Latest signs of change along Alki Ave

The new Pegasus sign is up at the ex-Coyotes, ex-Chez Million, ex-Lighthouse, ex-Point:

Further east, new colors are painted on Slices (whose front fence was shown in the Craigslist version of this ad last month; we wrote to the listed e-mailbox but got no reply) and in the background, the ex-Alki Mail turned future Pioneer Coffee Company:

    First…that’s really, really green, isn’t it? wow…

Second…I think this will be a great location for Pegasus. More room, more outdoor seating in the summer, bigger kitchen…although, parking will stil be as bad as ever :)

Wow……that IS a pretty GREEN!! Hey Shane & I had our very first “date” at the ex-Point 2/14/1999!! He has been stuck with me ever since!! hahaha!! :)

Any ideas what might go into the existing Pegasus location?

Sorry, I sometimes forget to link to all the backstory. It’s going to be torn down and replaced by a building with space for a restaurant on the ground floor, one residence above. Haven’t talked to the principals involved so not sure if the intent is for Pegasus eventually to move back there or for something else new to move in. Re: memories at the Point, we have many too. Looking forward to Pegasus dining in that space; post-Point, we tried Lighthouse a time or two and didn’t care for it; we never even made it to Chez Million or Coyotes.

I think the plan is for Pegasus to move into the new building that is going up between Bamboo and Cactus.

Cami’s comment reminds me, that one — the building at 2810 Alki is the one with ground-floor restaurant (listed on the city project page as Pegasus) and a residential unit above – the building at the current Pegasus site, 2758 Alki, is described on its city project page as restaurant ground floor, offices above.

Hopefully that site doesn’t curse Pegasus. Nothing else had made much of a go aside from summertime happy hours.

Regardless which building Pegasus eventually settles in, there are two “more” restaurants coming (old Pegasus building, and apts between Coyote and Bamboo). And then the crappy little mini pizza joint (slices) looks like it’s up for sale. That was really the worst mall pizza and NO other foods…I’m shocked it lasted more than 4 months.

That area’s getting a little restaurant heavy. Be interesting to see if they can all survive the quiet half of the year when the beach crowds are gone.

I did notice the Alki Urban Market now has it’s name up on the overhead awning. Looks like it’s getting close to opening. Can’t wait!

Coyotes was awful. First and last time I ate there my food was still partially frozen.

Sorry, comment time is over.
