Probably just a Husky defensive back trying to figure out where his man went. COUGARS!

hehehe….nice excuse. Yes, we shouldn’t take this lightly…but…I’m in a second floor unit…he’s gonna have to work awfully hard to get a peek ;-)

Any chance you had potential donations on the balcony?

Yikes how creepy. Thanks for the heads up!

Unfortunately, these peep creeps can be more than a laughing matter. Some may “merely” look; others are truly sick sexual predators with the potential to commit worse crimes.

This is too close to home. Scary. Not that peepin’ is ever ok but the time of year strikes me as odd.
Thanks again for the heads up WSB and its readers, k in this case.

King 5 has been including this story in their promos for tonight’s 11pm news, saying that something he’s leaving behind will help police catch him. Please tell me they’re talking about footprints…

Or heck, perhaps he’s grabbing donations. ;)

maybe I’ll take DOWN the ‘beware of dog’ sign for a few nights.

  • Kayleigh November 27, 2007 (6:07 am)

Disgusting. I had a good scare while walking home the other night and I hope it wasn’t him.

If the media isn’t going to provide the details, maybe we can do a better job as a neighborhood. Anyone have more? Better description? Street side windows or those more hidden? Behaviors? (although that last one might be obvious if they are so confident that he is sexually motivated) This is a little too close to home for me and while not during school hours, 49/Dakota is right next to Pathfinder, 46/Admiral not that far from Lafayette. Let’s communicate and keep our eyes open.

Considering ourselves part of “the media,” albeit nontraditional, we apologize that we don’t have the police report. It’s one area where we have lagged even as we have dramatically increased original coverage in the past few months. But we will be fixing that soon.

Oops, WSB, should have said TV/newspaper, sorry! Following their teases, I waited for more info on KING and was disappointed that they really didn’t provide anything that wasn’t already in the PI. You’re the best!

Kayleigh – please, share more if you can. Where were you walking, and what happened? Someone approach you, follow you, pop out unexpectedly? Was it very late or just dark, now that dark comes so early? Not prying, just curious what the situation was – my antennae need to be up up up!!

I had a peeper 4 years ago when I moved in to my place. Fortunately I live between the Sbux and the Police station, and it was at about 2am (shift change) so there were squad cars actually passing my place as I called 9-1-1. I had a very detailed description of him, and they caught him on the corner and he did a whopping 12 days in jail or some such. When I read the news article I checked the very vague description, but my guy was shorter – about 5’6″-5’8″ range.

One thing we ALL can do is to train ourselves to be more observant. Glance at someone walking toward you, and look away – try to remember as much detail about them as you can from that quick glance. Look back and see how close you were. Unfortunately in a crime all you usually have is a quick glance. If you practice this, you can get really good at memorizing facial features, height and weight, and clothing all in a split second. Believe me when I say it helped me immensely with my peeper. It’s the reason they were able to catch him and convict him. The police were amazed at the accuracy of my description until I told them what I do to practice. They said it’s how they are trained as well.

The only “peeper” experience I’ve had was the night before my house was burglered!

  • Praying Man-tis-i November 27, 2007 (12:54 pm)

Leave it to a Coog to try and make humor out of this. I’d say that I’d expect more from you, but it’s clear why you’re incapable.

By the way, I hear WeSUck may be going after Price or even Slick Rick…very Coog-like moves.

The Ducks will plow you fields and pilage your *cattle* next year!

Could these”peepers” be related to the near attack in Lincoln Park last week? Suspect discriptions are very similar.

  • Jan November 27, 2007 (7:55 pm)

what I like about the WSB is, that even though we joke about it, the message is getting around…and maybe it will have an impact on getting said creepy person caught :)

Just learned of this site/blog & want to pass on the info. Seems the same peeper struck our neighbors last night 12/2/07 3800 block of 49th Ave SW.
There was a peeping Tom outside our neighbors houses off & on for about 2
hours last night. Neither house knew of the other’s peeper until about 10:00 pm.
Apparently he had ‘visited’ one & watched while the couple were hot tubbing
a couple of hours earlier, ‘visited’ the neighbors kid’s room window across
the street & waived at him about an hour after the first visit, & then back to look into
the hot tubber’s bedroom about an hour after that. At about 10:00 is when the
kid saw him return to 1st visit’s house & notified his dad. Needless to say, the
    police came shortly.

    Unfortunately, not much could be I.D.’d. ~ 5’9″ – 5′ 10″, slender build,
all in black ( or at least dark clothing).

Police have stated & my husband has read that he has been around the
neighborhood for about 5 weeks now and his territory seems to cover from
Admiral to Genesse & from 45th to 53rd.

My observation: it was pouring rain for those few hours. The person is
either persistent with foul weather gear or lives close enough to go home &
dry the clothes before going back out.

Pass the word if you wish.

  • Mike December 4, 2007 (7:13 am)

I am Victoria’s next door neighbor, and my son is the one who saw this creep looking in his bedroom window. I looked outside but saw nothing and passed it off as someone walking their dog or his imagination. A half hour later we saw him looking in the window of our neighbors house across the street.(the same one’s with the hot tub) I gave chase but he quickly eluded me in the darkness. He wears all black and knows the neighborhood well. Here’s the really scary part.
When the officers arrived we walked down the alley between 49th and 50th, Charlestown to Andover, and noticed everyones gates open in their backyards.
I also noticed lawn furniture against the wall of my other neighbors house, just below the window.
This is normally in their garage.
I found a white, brand new, folding three stepped step stool against the south side of my house that none of my neighbors can identify…..wierd.
So keep your windows locked and your outside lights on. If you are missing a folding step stool let me know.
Keep em locked, loaded, and ready. Mike.

Not sure if it was the peeper or not but on Saturday night at about 11:45pm some jerkoff was jingling the handle and pushing on our door. We live in the 5600 block of 48th Ave SW. I yelled at him and he took off. We called the police and they searched the neighborhood and also mentioned a few other reports same night of a guy passing through yards. Our guy matches the description. Short hair, about 5’10, slender build, dark clothing. Hopefully, this scumbag will be taken care of real soon.

Sorry, comment time is over.
