Revealed: What’s going into the old Bikes ‘n’ Brew spot

Several people have e-mailed WSB to ask about this – wondered about it ourselves – and finally we have the answer: The ex-Bikes & Brew (etc.) spot in The Junction, just west of Easy Street, will be the new West Seattle home of Twilight Artist Collective — here’s what Erin Crawford tells us about Twilight:

We are hoping to be open in the 1st week of December ~ and are planning a “soft-opening” party on Thursday 13th, to coincide with the West Seattle Art Walk. … We have been in business @ Pike Place Market for almost 3 years, and represent over 100 local artists! The new shop will be a bigger & better version of our PPM shop ~ with featured artists showing in the back space of the gallery, and a wide variety of artists, salon style, in the front of the gallery. We will also have a collection of handmade goods (jewelry, handbags, sock monsters, etc) ~ perfect for holiday stuffers!! We will have more info & details on dates & times as the next week progresses ~ our contractors are in the space transforming it as we speak!

This is great! If there is one thing West Seattle is lacking, it’s a real art gallery showing a wide variety of regional artists (rather than 1 or 2 featured local artists). This will be a huge boost to the monthly art walks.

This is quite possibly the only spot that no one has mentioned TJ’s going into.. More local art is always good :)

Sock monsters will make West Seattle legit.

Sounds like a great idea and a great addition to the neighborhood!

Hmm, I remember this space as a comic book shop that I spent way too much $$$$ at back in the early 90s.

I’m so happy to see more interesting places to go to in the Junction! I’ll definitely be spending some money in here!

Sorry, comment time is over.
