Just launched: Version 1.0 of our brand-new Events page, stocked with a variety of events coming up in West Seattle (and a select few elsewhere, but of WS relevance) over the next three months. If you are involved with an event of public interest and you don’t see it there yet, please send e-mail to tell us about it. One of the events on the page already is the October fundraising dinner/auction for West Seattle’s only private high school, Seattle Lutheran HS; WSB readers sent us full details too, including a call for more auction donations:

As the only private high school in West Seattle we need your help. Our goal is to be the regional leader in holistic education. Holistic education is dedicated to bringing out the innate potential in every student, balancing high academic standards with spiritual growth. Come learn about our new service learning focus where our curriculum is focused on empowering students to become engaged citizens strengthening our local community.

For 29 years, Seattle Lutheran High School has been exercising an above and beyond ministry – responding to God, who has blessed us in ways above and beyond our understanding – and expectations. For 29 years, our teachers have given above and beyond, and donors have given above and beyond, and students have been encouraged to craft a vision for their lives that is above and beyond anything they might have imagined.

This is an invitation for you to go above and beyond – with your generosity and your prayers, as together we encourage all our students to become everything God intended them to be. Please join us for a fun filled evening, supporting the mission of Seattle Lutheran High School. Bid on an assortment of Silent Auction items, followed by dinner and the Live Auction in the grand ballroom.
