    An important nit:

The parade is the American Legion Parade. They put in a lot of work and should get proper credit.

Hi-Yu is basically a coordination/promotion committee for July events put on by various organizations. Hi-Yu does 4 things primarily:

    1. Provide a forum for service clubs and organizations to coordinate summer festival activities
    2. Miss West Seattle Hi-Yu Scholarship program (Jr. girls & Sr. women) (http://www.hiyu.com/candidates/)
    3. Product the annual Souvenir Book (http://www.hiyu.com/booklets/)
    4. Build a float for about 10 area parades to promote West Seattle throughout the region (http://www.hiyu.com/floats.asp)

You probably have already found our schedule of events: http://www.hiyu.com/schedule.asp

    Thanks, Tim Winston
    President
    West Seattle Hi-Yu Summer Festival
