Signs of change

wsmotors.jpgHuling/Gee isn’t the only name change along Fauntleroy’s mini-“auto row.” At Fauntleroy/Oregon, the tattered old “Bob Ochsner Cars” sign just vanished, and a slick new “West Seattle Motors” sign (left) just appeared. (If you can’t recall the old sign, check the right side of the photo on the bottom of this city page — scroll down, then over — about the neighboring, historical-ish Wardrobe Cleaners neon sign.)

And I was under the mistaken impression that those few blocks of Fauntleroy couldn’t get any uglier.

I don’t know Joel. Alki Lumber could have bought it.

Well, they added to the sign with a reader board – BUY, SELL, TRADE, UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP.

I just bought new CF light bulbs for my house and then saw this. How much energy is it taking to advertise along Fauntleroy?

Does anyone know, since the new owners are going, whether that godawful sign will come down? We don’t need to have WS look any more like the bad parts of Aurora than it already does…

now now..let us NOT disparage the sign. It is an Avanti, after all!

Sorry, comment time is over.
