Road rage in Gatewood

Just happened onto this rather amazing tale of road rage, or should we say parking rage, near Caffe Ladro.

This illustrates the worste of blogging. It shouldn’t have happened, it shouldn’t have been written aboput and it shouldn’t have been repeated here. Yeesh.

Not really worth reading – here’s the Cliff’s notes.

“I got out of my car and asked her if she had a problem”

    “I spit on her window”

Now she’s calling the police on him… oh boy.

Let’s see…. the whole “mess” would have been avoided if the blogger just went in to get the coffee instead of being confrontational about it. However, this type of behavior is typical of Seattle’s passive-agressive types.

I’d like to think I would have just walked away from the first comment about his parking ability, but I probably wouldn’t have.

I was more or less in agreement with Mighty Joe up to the point he spit on the rager’s window.

Why he was surprised after that is a mystery.

When you argue with an idiot, there’s 2 idiots arguing.

Eric, how is spitting on some one’s window being passive-agressive? (IE: Passsive Agressive = Does not express hostility or anger openly).

    Wet Head, you’re dead on…

Every passive-agressive person eventually cracks and this is clearly a case of it.

“When you argue with an idiot, there’s 2 idiots arguing.”

I’ll second this, Wet Head. Great story though! LOL!

Funny story…it’s a shame the lady didn’t kick his ass for spitting on her car.

I was in agreement up until spit flew.

NO excuse – shame on him for being part of the problem.

Boooo. Not worth the attention. Both people are lame. Ignore them and hope Darwin catches up to them.

This just shows how reactive we have all become. I know that in the heat of it, it is easier to lash out, but what about just saying “I am sorry you felt I cut you off, I hope your day gets better” rather than taking revenge, stooping to her level and spitting on her window. I thought West Seattle was better than that.

You guys are right, this was turning point for me. I realized that I should have just forgave the woman for her comments and went on with my day. And as for spitting on her car I am ashamed of that behavior, in heat of the moment when she called me an a**hole, I let my emotions get the better of me. I’ve been a professional driver for well over 15 years and I get hypercritical about the driving of others, to my own detriment. This is something I have been working working on. Thanks for your comments

I was a downtown shuttle van driver about 10 years ago, so I feel your pain. People talk about how rude Seattle drivers (and people in general) are getting, I say, they have been that way for a long, long time.

The worst incident for me was when I accidentally started to make a right in front of a ped. I stopped and came nowhere close to hitting the guy. His response? He flicked his lit cigarette into the window of my shuttle van. Niiiiice….

Sorry, comment time is over.
