Chowder in a sourdough bread bowl and a beer hits the spot every time. My friend visited for several days and, after the first night, insisted that we continue to have dinner there everyday until he had to leave.

I’ve tried several other things on the menu over the years with great pleasure, but stick with the chowder now due to a job change resulting in much less discretionary money being available.

When my daughter lived in West Seattle we’d walk down there and eat at Dukes. I liked the food but it just has the atmospher of a neighborhood kind of place. I like Dukes and I wish Gina still lived in West Seattle. What a combination!

Had dinner there last night with friends and had been craving their Northwest Seafood Chowder (for a couple of weeks). It did not disappoint, and everyone else said their meals were the best they had had while visiting Seattle for the last 2 weeks. Go Dukes!

Don’t go alone I guess! Just tried to have lunch there alone after an especially rough day dropping my kids off for Kindergarten. Was seated and then ignored by no less than the six servers working there for twenty minutes. I’m disappointed and won’t be going back and although I understand in the summer their clientele is very tourist driven, they’d do better to watch out for the locals for all year long patronage.

Best seafood in W Seattle. Try their chowder samplers. Had the Oh My Cod and loved the subtle panko breading. Attentive service by Dawn who was helpful and offered suggestions. I recommend this to out of town friends looking for waterfront seafood. No need to go downtown.
