(Pets page sponsorship is available – want to help reunite lost/found West Seattle pets and their people?)
Lost or found a pet? E-MAIL INFO/PHOTO TO: email@example.com – plain text with contact #, one JPG photo, no Word/PDF/etc. docs. PLEASE let us know when the situation is resolved, so we can remove the listing. Thanks!
RULES: Please only report “found” pets that are in your custody – if you see a “possible lost pet running around,” check to see if it is reported as lost. If it is, PLEASE contact the owner directly with your sighting – they might not see a comment soon enough. If the pet you found needs medical attention, please get that attention before asking us to post – the pet’s health/welfare matters most. Please do NOT submit a comment with an opinion of the pet, its owner, its circumstances, its breed OR a comment promoting someone who charges $ to search for pets – those will NOT be approved for publication.

From Krista: “Someone ran over a cat near the junction of SW Barton and 39th SW. I saw the poor dear as I drove by. I turned around and was able to move him out of the road. A guy that lived in the area gave me a plastic bag to use to move him. The man said he had seen him running around several times in the alley behind his house before but didn’t know if he had an owner. He/she was pretty large with light brown and dark hair. I’m so sorry for the loss of your kitty.”
From Maki: “I just wanted to inform that a deceased, gray stripe/white adult cat is lying on the side of the road at 6:30 pm today. He/she is fully grown adult, white paws and gray stripe back, and sadly, passed away. He/she was on the southbound lane of the 26th Ave SW, just north of SW 100th St, right in between sidewalk construction barriers and lights. I am so sorry for the precious kitty and his/her family.”

(Message from Kahlessi’s people: “Thank you, West Seattle Blog, we have found our baby Kahlessi. A lady from our community found her near our home; because we forgot to put her tag back on her, there was no info. On Christmas Eve she called us and we met and got her back. It is through you West Seattle blog that we got our information to the public. Thank you so much. We want to thank Emily and her family for finding our baby girl. May the Lord’s blessing fall on her and her family. What a Christmas miracle for us. Mahalo and Faafetai from our Ohana.”)

This duck has been at our house on 56th and Spokane St for 2 days now. Sitting on front porch and wondering about 2 house away and back to porch. Talked with Wildlife Rescue and he/she is domesticated Muscovy Duck so they cannot do anything about it. Can get about 3 feet away from it before it turns and walks away from me. If you know anything about a lost duck please contact Kimberly at 206-933-8434.
(Editor’s note: We’ve had a few other sightings reported, same duck.)
Found a lost 50/50 white/tabby shorthaired cat — likely someone’s pet—this morning around 11:30 in the block between Manning and Hinds on 37th Ave. SW. He is extremely affectionate and looks well-cared for. 703-582-4404
Hopefully your readers will help! There is a beautiful Black Shepherd dog that was left abandoned at Barnes and Noble at Westwood. Loss Prevention is keeping an eye on him. I would happily take him in but I already have an old arthritic dog that cannot handle too much excitement. Please help him! Store phone # 206-932-0328
