Message for a cat owner – February 6, 2015 9:48 pm

At about 4:45 today I witnessed a cat get hit on 35th street at corner of Trenton and 35th. The cat was in very bad shape and had no collar. I brought it to Luna Park vet where they immediately administered pain medication and the vet concluded that the best thing to do would be to put it to sleep because its injuries were too severe. It was a large orange/golden colored male cat. The vet said it was most likely a stray because it did not have a microchip and was not neutered. I still wanted to post it on the blog though in case this is someone’s pet that they think is missing. We knocked on neighbors doors near the accident but they did not know the cat. Luna Park Animal Hospital said you can call them with any questions if you think he may be yours. I am so sorry, I did everything that I could to help him.

(I did not see what car hit the cat, I arrived at the light right after it happened.)

THANKYOU for your time and any $$ involvement. A lot ‘people’ would just leave it there to suffer or keep running over it. It’s so awesome when someone that doesn’t have to.. but does step up. Even if a stray, it went out of this world learning that it was cared for in the end. Wish there were more folks like you!

I drove by as you were gently lifting the big orange kitty. I wondered if it was your cat. Your compassion and presence of mind to follow through is appreciated. If the owners find this post, I am sure they will be very grateful for your kind actions.

Oh, my sympathy to the owner/family if this poor kitty had one. To the good soul who cared for this injured cat-your compassion is an example of what is right in this world. Thank you.

<3 You are a wonderful and kind soul! It makes my heart happy knowing that there are people like you on this planet! Thank you for this post and I hope that the person that is missing their furry friend finds comfort in your act of selflessness. I know that it must have been terribly difficult for you to do what you did because you have a huge heart! Keep on being you because you are AWESOME!

Thank you so much for showing this poor guy the decency, respect and compassion he most likely wasn’t receiving by his “owners”…none are stray due to their own choosing.
It’s people like you that gives our calling as animal rescuers hope in this world seemingly full of throwaway furkids.

What everyone else said. What a heartbreaking story. Thank you for caring and making sure the cat’s passing was maybe a little more peaceful than it might have been otherwise. Poor kitty. :(
