West Seattle, Washington
18 Monday
(After almost a week, Luka is back home – see comments!)
I just got out of my car on 36th and I saw a brown dog running toward the nursing home along the sidewalk. I didn’t get a good look and tried to call it but it kept running!
If you mean The Mount … that’s a long way but anything’s possible … if you think it might have been this dog, do contact the number in the listing – it’s sightings that bring them in, as was the case with Zuki the Shiba found a few days ago after almost a week on the run…
I’m sure they meant the Kenney, so towards Lincoln Park. Hoping for the best!
Thanks for posting Anna! We are the owners are we are unfortunately out of town, but we have let the kennel know about your sighting.
Any future sightings, please call Stella Ruffington’s Doggy Daycare at 206-932-7833.
I hope your dog is found quickly but may I ask how does a professional dog care company let an animal get loose from their possession?
I had a dog lost awhile ago from the Gatewood area who wound up in the Beach Drive area for a week. With the help of lovely people here I finally got her back.
Update: Luka has been spotted in the 44th and Fauntleroy area.
If you see him, call Stella Ruffington’s at 206-932-7833.
some suggestions
do an Intersection Alert;
I’m putting up a couple posters tonight, Morgan Junction and Lincoln Park.
I saw at least one on a utility pole in the area today, so there are some already.
UPDATE 10/3 at 12pm:
Luka is still missing. There was a possible sighting on 16th Ave SW between Austin St. and Holden St.
DO NOT CHASE! Luka will run away if you chase him.
If you see Luka, please call Petra at 206-960-9779 or Matthew at 206-294-8854 immediately.
Thanks for the update. We have bumped this up as it is unusual for a dog to not get reunited after more than a day or two, and because you have sightings.
Hi I created a map of the sighting listed in this blog I marked on the map locations for intersection alerts 2 or 4 people per location for 3hrs. also in purple is the area I would suggest putting up the large neon posters. plus look in this area for any stores or restaurants where luka could get food. anyone who reads this blog could print out a picture of luka and tape it to their back window of their car. the more eyes you have on the street the higher the % for more sights and a reunion. if you do an intersection alert let me know and I’ll come out and stand on a corner for 3 hrs txt my cell 206 321-7021
anyone else willing to stand on a corner for a few hours let luka’s people know
We have created a Facebook page to coordinate all of the efforts being made to bring Luka home:
UPDATE: 10/4 8:45AM
LUKA HAS BEEN SPOTTED AT 49TH AVE SW & SW RAYMOND ST.
If you are in the area please look out for him and call 206-294-8854 immediately!!
This is from Luka’s owner, Matt Rabson:
We’re hoping to coordinate Intersection Alerts today and tomorrow as the next step and are looking for your help!
http://www.missingpetpartnership.org/r…/intersection-alerts/
If you are able to volunteer by holding a big neon sign at a busy intersection during rush hour (anytime from 4:00ish – dusk) we think it would be a big help in raising awareness.
If able, please stop by Stella Ruffington’s (7003 California Ave SW, four blocks south of the Morgan Junction) where they’re holding our big posters. They close at 7 p.m.
Areas are California and Fauntleroy (most effective)
California and Alaska
and Morgan and 35th
Please share as much as you can. Thank you again, this means the world to Petra and myself
Matt
Hi there — I was just driving by and saw your sign. Regarding the sighting at 39th and Raymond, I live at 47th and Raymond and yesterday I saw a dog that could be yours, I thought it was strange that he was running around loose but then he came up to a boy with a backpack and seemed to follow along with him, so I thought they were together. It might be the person who saw Luka at 49th because they were heading that way, along Raymond. I’m so sorry that I hadn’t seen your signs before, because I could have tried to lure him with some chicken.
If I see him on my walks I will do everything I can to lure him.
Oh my god I hope this is true. I’ve resisted commenting here but this captured my attention to the point that I’ve been out walking with a spare leash. I once had a dog get loose from a boarder and it was an awful experience. I’m happy to hear this bit of good news. I hope the boarder reviews their policies and procedures. There should never be a situation that a dog could get away from the kennel…
Hello, I’m Petra the owner and I am confirming that we have found Luka. Thank you to everyone for your help and support!
Yeah! Glad Luka is home and hope he is no worse for the wear! Nice to see everyone helping to find him!👍
