LOST CAT: Have you seen Max? – June 30, 2016 9:20 pm

“MAX” is almost a year old…a short hair, domestic, all black male cat who was just in the process of getting used to his new adoptive home. His new family didn’t realize that he would/could jump from the deck…then he was so scared from the jump that he continued running. They haven’t been able to find him. He is not a kitten, yet not a full aged adult yet…about one year old. He can be somewhat shy at first, but is loving and purrs once he warms up to a stranger. He is very likely hungry, thirsty, dehydrated, tired and scared. He doesn’t know the area so he doesn’t know his way back home.

His former owner was an elderly lady who loved him very much, but she developed dementia and had to be put in a nursing home. His new family also loved him and are hoping someone will find him and call.

He was lost between 9th/10th Avenue SW and SW Roxbury. He could have traveled a couple miles within that radius. If anyone finds a black young male cat, please PLEASE call 404-993-5610.

Did Max ever have a cone of shame on his head while at the new home? How long has he been lost?

I’ve had a friendly black cat visiting my yard for a while now (and it had a cone of shame on its head briefly). I live in the area where Max was lost.

I called the number above and left my contact info.

I also called the number and offered a trap.

Any sightings?  I am so sorry for what you are going through, blessings and hugs!

Is he microchipped? If he is chipped, make sure to contact the chip company to report him lost.
Ensure you call the Seattle Animal Shelter lost/found line DAILY – 206-386-7387 and go in person and fill out the forms, and look in person, check all the cages each time you go. Only you know your cat!
Also, inform wherever you adopted her from as they can get the word out further.
Some advice: Put her dirty litter outside, the smell will travel and help guide him if he needs it. Also, put an article of your clothing out. With the coyotes and other critters, food is not recommended. Does your cat have a way to get inside if she does come back? If not, make sure there is a safe place to hang out.
Bug your neighbors, knock on doors and ask to PERSONALLY check sheds, garages, out buildings, etc. (it is your cat, you care much more than your neighbors and they may say they will look around but…) a scared cat can get into some very tiny spaces. When you search, use the voice or noises you use inside, keep the fear out of your voice. Walk, call, wait (quietly), repeat and then walk back the same way you came calling again. Too many feet make too much noise so if people are helping, send in twos on other routes. Check under bushes, look up in trees and on roofs, and again, go slow and stay calm.
I also live very close if you need assistance searching, or just a hug.
There are also some great tips here for search advice and literature about the behavior of lost kitties, you can go to Missing Pet Partnership’s website: http://www.missingpetpartnership.org
Sending compassion, and good thoughts. Blessed be, may Max kitty return home safely and quickly!

I am also looking for a black cat. I hadn’t noticed any other black cats on our block before Ella went missing but now there is one.  I’m between Barton and Henderson on 13th so it seems like it could be him? I can forward you pictures that a neighbor sent me if you want…

Not sure if you will see this, but a black cat was found at 9th and Roxbury this evening. No chip or collar.

There is also a female black cat with pink collar that has been found.
