Thank you for taking this kitten but I have to wonder why on earth would you even look for this poor kitten’s owner (and you know she was dumped). Hopefully you will be able to set traps for the rest of her family which was probably dumped with her. If you can’t, I will. Just need the location where she was found.

So sad. People are so cruel. Poor little baby, thank you to the person who rescued this little cutie.
As Marianne said, are there more? Odd that one little kitten would be out there.

So, if this makes your heart melt, please do go out of your way to help kittens.
And then go make a donation to an veterans support organization. Or homeless shelter.
    Please? Pretty please?

Update on “Cara” (because she rescued among communting cars) or “Cassady” (from Kerouac’s ‘On the Road’):

Her hip is badly broken and the vet says the only course is amputation. She is eating and drinking enthusiastically. She is friendly with the dogs and other cat she’s met since yesterday. I spoke to the wonderful, compassionate man who rescued her yesterday and, for Marianne, her actual location was in the far more precarious on ramp from the West Seattle Bridge that merges onto Highway 99 to Downtown Seattle. She was 3/4 of the way up the on ramp at 6:30 AM in heavy rain and slow-moving bumper to bumper traffic. With only the narrowest of shoulders to pull over and very high above the ground, he carefully took her in and cared for her all day at work until bringing her to Kitty Harbor.

It does seem unlikely she is a lost pet considering where she was found. She will be cared for and ready for adoption at Kitty Harbor when healed. In a way, this lost pet posting might be considered resolved if we can give it a day or two in case the owner wasn’t the person who displaced this friendly kitten.

Poor kitten…why do people (if that’s what you can call them) discard animals off like that! Thank you Sir for risking your life to pick her up and taking her somewhere where she can be cared for and hopefully adopted.

THANKYOU to baby kittens HERO!!! Awesome to do the right thing, she was in pain, cold wet, and huge moving cars all around her. What a strong will she has to connect with him to be found! Regarding about possible scenario on why she was found, especially up there and not below with her litter or colony. We all have heard of and/or witnessed dogs and cats purposely being tossed from a moving vehicle. I’ve even been told where years ago someone witnessed a bunch of kittens tossed from a car on the upper West Seattle Bridge, and when they doubled back and got facing going on the bridge the other way, it was too late. They had all been run over. She was on the ramp. She has a very bad broken hip. Sorry, but my bet is some evil coward was behind it. She will now have a better life, and my prayers go to her and to the (punk) who did it. They need the prayers to never do abuse/neglect again. Another clue, she was not feral. Thankyou again to kind man, blessings your way!

Dana, I am a bit confused. Was the kitten up the ramp to the bridge off of Delridge (where that abandoned house is)? Or was she up the ramp underneath the bridge by Kitty Harbor near the steel mill?

Marianne, sorry for not being specific. I was wrong in the original post in that she wasn’t found under the bridge. Neither of the places you references. After I talked to her rescuer Jeffrey, he said it was the West Seattle Bridge exit to 99/Alaska Way Viaduct, aka here:

Update on the kitten: No owner has come a-calling, but she is in good hands and will find a new safe adoptive home through Kitty Harbor. She is on her way to surgery today where she will have her badly broken leg amputated and then, after she is mended, she will be at Kitty Harbor looking for a home – probably after Thanksgiving.

So, as far as finding her previous owner as a lost pet, I’d say this is resolved.

    Update on this kitten:
Her original rescuer, the big-hearted commuter who pulled over on the highway onramp during heavy morning traffic and picked up the kitten, is adopting her! Kitty Harbor cared for her and a kind vet in Eastern WA saved her badly broken leg through surgery, only charging a fraction of the amount the West Seattle vet quoted for amputation. She will spend Thanksgiving in a warm, cozy, loving forever home.
