A friendly short haired black cat with some white on the chest and a reflective collar showed up in our yard about a week ago. The cat would be in our yard every time we went outside. We then noticed the cat was in the yard after dark two nights in a row and there in the morning. Two nights ago we heard screeching and were concerned about raccoons if the cat was still hanging out in the yard. We then let the cat in. We have let him out, but he keeps returning to our door. I live on 51st ave Sw & Sw Edmunds, That looks like the same kitty i saw about a month ago hanging out. A lady came by from the direction of 52nd and said it was her neighbors cat. She picked him up and took him away… Maybe its the same kitty.
Are you able to get the kitty in a carrier and take it to a local vet to check for a microchip? Do you plan to keep the cat while you search for an owner? There are many great rescues and the public shelters are excellent as well, good luck!
