DECEASED CAT: In Westwood – June 12, 2016 8:28 pm

Two people have reported seeing this cat and thinking its person would want to know: Betsy says it’s a “black cat with white paws that passed away. Inbetween 36th and 35th ave and Barton street. Looks like it got hit by a car . I just thought the owners would like to know.” Katherine describes the location as kittycorner from Tony’s Market, which would likely mean the southwest corner of 35th/Barton.

I am a Metro driver and for two days I have seen this kitty on the street next to the curb.   Since I am driving a bus I kind of felt helpless to do anything, and sent WSB a message, but , on my last trip today, I put my 4-ways on the bus, pulled the brake, got out of the bus, put on my gloves, and put kitty on the grass next to the curb and off the street.  At least he/she can become one with the earth if no one comes.  I just wanted to show a little compassion and not let poor kitty become part of the pavement.   Looked to be a black kitty with white paws.  R.I.P.

Thank you so much for your kindness and tender-hearted efforts regarding this poor little creature.

The odds are great he/she was loved and is missed.

The world sure could use more of the love and compassion you’ve dispalyed.

Just got back. Took a light and a wrap but saw nothing so guess someone was there first.

Katherine, you have a good heart. Thank you for showing compassion for a pet that I’m sure was loved and is missed. If I lost one of my furry ones, I’d be grateful if someone did the same for them.

The kindness shown by my fellow humans in this thread is really moving. Thank you, brothers & sisters.
