I am the one who found this kitty and took her to Lien. I also contacted WSB. I have an update. Kitty and owner are re-united.
This serves as a HUGE reminder to all pet owners – UPDATE YOUR CHIP INFORMATION WHEN YOU MOVE!!
If your pet has a chip, it is worth it to keep the information updated.
Also, spay and neuter!
Thanks!

Thanks, Lisa. I tweeted this listing with the caption “here’s another reason you need to make sure the chip connects to updated information” for the same reason. To be honest, our cat has a chip that I don’t think is linked to current info. He is a senior cat, he is 100 percent indoors and not interested in running but … something else could lead to him getting out someday and so I need to find out how to update his chip and would like to share that info .. gotta figure out who can provide it. – TR
Easiest way – next vet appt. ask them to scan kitty and provide the information.
Or – If he was chipped at the shelter or rescue where you got him, they would know the company that they use.
Once you have the information, most of the major micro chip companies have a website where you can log on to update your information.
If the vet can’t help or if you don’t have the chip number, or never registered it, you may need to know the pets original name as given at the shelter. Normally, the chip companies customer service can look up the information with the cat and shelter information you provide.
