I hope you find Ella soon…it’s so cold outside now. ;(

  • Elle December 19, 2012 (9:40 am)

Sending thoughts of hope. I am sorry for what you are going through, I too am currently searching for my cat.
May we find strength through each other.
    Wishing you peace and luck!

Ella is ENTIRELY an indoor cat and given her blindness, would likely stay close to houses.

She might be found inside a potters plant or other safe spot – your garage, under the floor, along the side of a house – this has only happened one other time and she was found a few doors down hiding in someone’s doorway. She responds to soft whistling and the names “Ellies” or “Ellie-bellies.”

This is so sad…with her being blind and all. I hope you find her soon.

Have you tried putting her litter box outside your home. When I lost my cat (I found him 2 days later) This was a suggestion I was given. They will follow their scent and I am sure her scent is much more sharp then other cats. Good luck. You will find her.

Let me know if you want help looking for her house to house- she couldn’t have gotten very far.

  • Talaki34 December 20, 2012 (2:31 pm)

I will help look too. I am off tomorrow and can spend the day looking.

to up the anty on Mara’s comment…you could also get a spray bottle and put some of your scent in it ( yes I am trying to be delicate…pee like at the Doctors) and “mark” your neighborhood.
This also creates a familiar scent trail to lead the animal back home..they do rely on their sense of smell and if they wander too far that is how they get lost….I know if sounds off putting but it works…I had neighbors whose inside cat got out and was missing for a couple of days…they were annoyed when I suggested it but desperate enough to try it and their cat was on the window sill within hours of their doing this. This has also worked for people I know when their dogs went missing for days and a pet detective suggested this…the dogs were on the porch within hours and they had been missing for days at that point.
Thinking of you and praying for your little ones safe return home.

Thank you all so much. Johnnie will be out looking tomorrow and I am on my way home. Please call her to help if you’re still willing and able. Thank you – so much.

Thank you so much. I will definitely try the litter, scent, trick. I will be on beach drive tomorrow with a cat detecting dog and trainer asking permission to search people’s yards. If you’d like to join give me a call.

I can help you look tomorrow, if you still need it.
Am hoping that you find her today, and it’s not necessary :0)

Thinking happy thoughts for you both and sweet Ella.

When my not blind but very old stay inside cat got outside, she hid in some shrubs by our house, found her in the nighttime by using a flashlight. The light from the flashlight lit up her eyes letting me spot her. If you cat has no eyes at all, that will not help of course but if she does have eyes it might. Hope you find her soon.

Any new sightings? I’ve been looking around all the areas of sightings and so far no luck. I will keep looking.

  • Elle December 27, 2012 (10:56 am)

My prayers are with you and Ella!
My cat is currently missing as well.

  • Amanda January 2, 2013 (1:13 pm)

No new sightings. We’re still looking and praying. Thank you all for your continued vigilance and well wishes. It’s very hard.

  • Mara January 3, 2013 (9:19 am)

I would be happy to look for her tomorrow, Friday the 4th. I am not working and can walk around if you give me some general locations I should search.

  • Steve January 4, 2013 (2:12 pm)

FWIW I ran this by an acquaintance who is a psychic and her impression was “Ella is fine, not in any distress at all and being taken care of by someone, a female.”
Cold comfort for her loving family I know, but it would make sense since we can’t find her. Perhaps someone who found her and took her in not aware her owners are searching for her and she is missing from a loving home.

Just thought I’d throw that out there.

  • Amanda January 4, 2013 (7:47 pm)

    Steve,

Thank you so much. I miss her something awful. It’s good to know she’s potentially indoors being cared for. Can you post the psychics number please?

  • Amanda January 4, 2013 (7:49 pm)

Email is also fine, assuming she/he is willing.

  • betty January 5, 2013 (9:38 am)

    any word?

  • Steve January 5, 2013 (4:47 pm)

Wish I had more Amanda, I don’t have any direct contact info for her. It was a chance encounter so I took the opportunity to ask. She said that was all she could “get”, but I’ll try and get a message to her and see if she can be any further help.

Thought it worth mentioning that someone may have found Ella and taken her in…

  • Amanda January 6, 2013 (12:24 pm)

It was worth mentioning. We’re going to do more fliers today around some of the senior centers and other complexes. Thanks again, so much.

  • Sheila January 16, 2013 (12:51 pm)

Just wondering if there were any new leads or good news?

  • Elle January 17, 2013 (10:22 am)

Bless you, I wish you relief from the pain and wondering. My 3 year old kitty, Diesel, went missing the day before Ella. I always watch for sightings of her during my search for Diesel. I too know the pain of not knowing. While of course, I hope that Ella comes home to you, I also wish for you a healing heart and lessening pain each day.
    in peace!

I’ve been praying for Ella ( St Anthony and St Francis of Assisi) daily– and following all the comments. We live on Murray Ave SW–6735 and on 1/16 a dog was barking and jumping around a tree in my neighbor’s yard—West of us–I thought I saw something in the tree–I could have been seeing just shadows, but once the dog and master left, the “black thing” in the tree was no longer there–after the dog had been gone for 10 minutes or so. Unfortunately, there is a fence between yards so I couldn’t get over there to see. I’m hoping maybe it was Ella and she was on her way home!! Sorry to get your hopes up if it wasn’t.
Also including Diesel in my prayers–we also have a black cat.

  • Amanda February 3, 2013 (7:54 pm)

Hi everyone…we haven’t found her and are deeply sad. Your thoughts and prayers mean so much. Even all this time later.

  • Steve February 4, 2013 (10:20 am)

So sorry to hear that Amanda. My thoughts and prayers are with you, I know how much it hurts to lose a furry family member. I will keep Ella in my thoughts and hope she’s ok and being cared for.

    Blessings

  • Sassy February 28, 2013 (2:20 pm)

    Prayers for Ella.
I hope that she is safe & warm – and finds her way home very, very soon.

  • Amanda March 7, 2013 (11:05 pm)

    Thank you…

  • Elle April 3, 2013 (12:26 pm)

    A prayer for Ella,
May you be happy and warm, safe and comfortable, no fears or worries surrounding you. May you be where you need to be doing what you need to be doing, be it in body or spirit. Feel the love of your family and when a rainbow forms you will all know it is built from the tears cried for you and from the brightness of your soul.
Bless you Ella and warm compassion to your family!
