‘A cat visits us – is it yours?’ – January 7, 2013 9:04 am

A plush, well-fed, healthy gray cat with a white chest blaze and white paw-tips has occasionally visited our house in Fauntleroy in recent weeks, hanging out on the front doorstep and outside the back windows and driving our oldest (indoor) cat wild with rage. Tonight the cat showed up in the middle of the night and stayed for quite awhile. I’m trying to figure out whether this is a curious feral, an owned cat that wanders at night, or a lost pet. I can’t try to get close enough to see whether there is a collar, because it’s worth the visitor’s life for me to open the door . . . our oldest cat really is desperate to get at the cat and kill him/her. Paradoxically, the visitor cat seems perfectly calm and will meet my gaze for long periods, per the attached photo. Call 206-933-6983 if you know the cat.

This looks a lot like my neighbors cat. Where are you located? We are down on the 1500 block of Alki Ave SW.

There are signs on beach drive for a lost kitty named Possum. Looks like this one. They start down around the Alki shopping area.

Elle, we’re on the Fauntleroy bluff, above Lincoln Park and the ferry, so pretty far from you. But, cats can wander. If your neighbor’s cat goes missing, please let him/her know about this post!

Amanda, thanks for the alert, I will look for the signs. I’m assuming they are tacked up from the Alki shopping area southward.
