    Zeeks’ mission is to provide the premiere pizza experience to Northwest neighborhoods. Zeeks has six company-owned stores and two franchises in the greater Seattle area and is expanding. A Seattle institution since 1993, Zeeks is known for its high-quality, eclectic pizza and for restaurants and employees that are unpretentious, cool and fun. In addition to our full-service dining rooms, we offer delivery and slice-line service at all of our locations. Zeeks is also the greater Seattle area’s premier pizza catering service for businesses large and small. While we embrace the casual and fun nature of pizza, we are serious about the standards we apply to our food, the people who prepare and serve it and the performance of our business overall.     Zeeks’ General Managers are the leaders of their store. They are responsible for all aspects of the restaurant’s operations. The General Manager must understand the overall mission, culture, and philosophy of Zeeks and be able to translate and implement them effectively on a day to day basis. It is important that the General Manager be able to communicate effectively with and take direction from the Directors of Operations and Executive Management. The General Manager is responsible for the restaurant’s P&L and therefore must be versed in the management of key drivers such as inventory, labor and cost of goods. Zeeks is fanatical about its standards for food quality, cleanliness and customer service, and the GM must buy into these standards to be successful. Also, to be effective, the General Manager will need to direct other people to achieve their goals. As such, General Managers must be able to communicate effectively and delegate. The ability to remain level-headed under stress and manage positively is key.

    Responsibilities

    Identification of staffing needs within the restaurant. Jointly filling identified staffing needs in cooperation with Human Resources, Directors of Operations, and other company resources

    Training and educating Zeeks’ restaurant staff in accordance with Zeeks policies

    Generate weekly schedules consistent with approved shift staffing plans which take into account labor percentages, sales forecasting and special events

    Manage inventory and order supplies

    Pro-actively manage labor, cost of goods and other key drivers of store performance to meet monthly P&L targets

    Lead and manage shifts as Manager in Charge when present in restaurant

    Ensure all shifts have effective leadership and run well, even when not present

    Have knowledge of every function in the restaurant and be able to fill any position during a shift

    Resolve customer service, product outages, facilities and other unforeseen issues as necessary

    Ensure that the highest level of customer service is maintained at all times by all employees

    Maintain a highly clean store, consistent with Zeeks’ standards

    Communication with call center and broader organization proactively and professionally.

    Attend monthly GM meetings and corporate headquarters with Executive Management

    Evaluate staff performance and provide formal (written performance reviews, Manage by Objective (MBO) documents & Performance Notices) and informal feedback, consistent with Zeeks’ procedures.

    Communicate effectively with the Directors of Operations and Executive Management, keeping them apprised of the “state of the union” and helping pro-actively address issues when they arise

    Ability to work 45-50 hours a week

    Experience and Qualifications

    Two years restaurant or retail management experience (revenue environment of at least $600,000)

    Demonstrated ability to lead, promote and foster a positive work environment

    Proven organizational and managerial skills

    Motivated self-starter

    Ability to give and receive constructive feedback

    Demonstrated commitment to high-standards

    Ability to remain level-headed and think clearly under pressure

    Someone who has owned their own restaurant preferred

    Pizza experience a plus

    Compensation

    $33,000 – $46,000K annual salary plus monthly bonuses

    401K eligibility and employer matching program after one year
