MRKParticipantSomeone was kind enough to leave a small QFC shopping cart in the bushes across the street. I put it on the parking strip and called the QFC manager at the store on Alaska twice. Both times he said they’d come and get it, yet it’s still there days later. I guess QFC doesn’t care about being a considerate neighbor.

berthaParticipantI know that store has a new manager and she started about a month ago. Maybe the cart pickup got lost in the transition?

MRKParticipantI talked to “Danielle” who is the store manager and she said they didn’t consider this their problem and hung up on me. Awesome! Nice neighbor, QFC!

newnativeParticipantWow, not their problem?! I wonder if Corporate would like to know that their store manager doesn’t seem to care about the neighborhood or store inventory?

FranciParticipantSounds like this store manager should not be interacting with the public either. We can only hope that she was having a bad day and this does not represent her skills in dealing with the public.

22bladesParticipantThey’re taken for granted but those carts are not cheap. I don’t know about you, but shopping carts away from stores are a blight. Just for kicks, I filled out their contact/issue page and sent it along with the link to this article. I’ll see what happens (not holding my breath). It goes to Kroger Corporate in Cincinnati, Ohio.

ellipsesParticipantGod you people are insufferable. Challenge: a million internet points from Ellipses to anyone who can come up with a solution to this problem. GO

JanSParticipant? Insufferable? Including yourself? You simply were bored last night and came on here to insult? Just curious.

mtnfreakParticipant25 years ago I knew of an entrepreneurial young man in San Diego who created a business returning carts to grocery stores – he negotiated a “finders and delivery” fee per cart with the stores.

JanSParticipantellipses, a serious question. If we’re so insufferable, why are you here? I certainly hope you’re including yourself.

GracianoParticipantWhy can’t the Person who borrowed the cart return it?
I think all store carts should do the same as Safeway, Take it off the premisses and it will lock up.September 8, 2017 at 10:51 pm #894216
Wes C. AddleParticipantMaybe Ellipses is on to something. Why not be a better neighbor than QFC is being and just push the cart across the street? The problem would be solved much faster than emailing/calling the store, or contacting the corporate office. I mean the effort was made to move it to the parking strip, why not move it 25 more feet?

HappyOnAlkiParticipantWes C. Addle, I seriously doubt that MRK lives across the street from the QFC. (Alki is currently home to 7 carts from Safeway — tough to just “push the cart across the street” back to the store.)
