    Position Overview:

    WestSide Baby, in partnership with our community, provides essential items to local children in need by collecting and distributing diapers, clothing, and equipment. We partner with over 127 social service agencies throughout King County, and work with more than 400 service providers already assisting low-income families. These service providers –or “provider partners”– place orders for specific items on behalf of their clients and distribute them directly to their families.

    The Saturday Operations Lead position is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position set at up to 5 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours. The primary focus of the Saturday Lead is to manage WestSide Baby’s White Center location’s Open Volunteer Hours. Responsibilities include managing individual and groups of volunteers with priority projects/tasks, assisting with the training of new volunteers, interacting with community donors, assisting with the intake of in-kind donations, and processing orders for distribution. This position supports WestSide Baby’s overall operations and reports directly to the White Center Site Manager

    Core Responsibilities:

    * Manage Volunteers & Interact with Donors:
    * Manage and lead individual volunteers and/or groups with priority projects/tasks
    * Train new volunteers as needed
    * Provide tours to new volunteers and in-kind donors as requested

    Facility Oversight:
    * Assist with the donation intake process and record incoming drives as necessary**
    * Process filled orders and prepare them for distribution. Accept incoming deliveries as necessary
    * Provide inventory management support**
    * Other Facility Tasks as requested by the Site Manager

    Hours/Schedule:
    The hours of this position are Saturdays from 9:30-2:30pm with some flexibility. There is the possibility of additional hours, if approved in advance.

    Qualifications:
    * Must be a self-starter that desires to work in a fast-paced, energetic and active work environment**
    * Prior volunteer management experience preferred
    * Solid written and verbal communication skills, and excellent customer service skills
    * Flexible, action-oriented work-style willing to adapt to and suggest changes
    * Proficient in Word, Excel, and database experience a plus
    * Creative thinking and the ability to think outside the box is a plus!
    * Great attitude is required!

    **Physical Requirements: Must be able to physically stock shelves, move items from one location to another, and load and unload products; must be able to lift 25 lbs. repeatedly, while often utilizing a ladder or step stool; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with the use of proper machinery such as a hand truck in our donation warehouse.

    Compensation: $11-$13/hour DOE

    Isn’t Minimum wage $15.00 unless insurance is provided then it’s $ 13.50 per hour?
    (Maybe i’m wrong) I just think that if you want to find a good employee you have to offer more incentive.

    Thanks for weighing in Beckyjo! We are not located in the City of Seattle so the new minimum wage regulations do not apply to us. That said, we are hoping to grow in support and impact and we work toward making all of our staff salaries more competitive.
