CROParticipantHello, I reside in West Seattle and am seeking 32-40 hours per week of employment. I have 14 yrs experience in an office setting. Also, I have experience as a caregiver for both children and the elderly, housekeeping, and as a delivery driver. I do not have a CNA, but have taken Fundamentals of Caregiving through the State of WA. I have references that I can provide. I prefer something in the West Seattle or Burien area, but willing to travel a bit further. I have reliable transportation. Thank you!

JanSParticipanthi…I hope your job seeking is successful. However…here is the rule for this particular forum (you can read it above)
“*THIS IS FOR JOB OPENINGS ONLY, NOT “JOB WANTED.” We hope someday to accommodate the latter, but for now, we can’t.”

anonymeParticipantIt appears that the rule against “job wanted” ads is no longer being enforced. The editor has been notified by post and email that there are multiple violations, and there has been no response. There is no longer a function to “report this post” as on the old site.

JanSParticipantanonyme. TR can be very busy, and a lot has gone on this week. The “report” function on the old site hadn’t worked for a long time. Maybe TR simply hasn’t had the time to get to this yet…

CROParticipantYes, honest mistake! I cannot delete it for some reason. I had seen posts like this in the past. Had no idea. If you have a tip on how to delete it do share. Until than please dont make me feel bad for wanting to feed my kid by working.

miwsParticipantCRO, there is only a few hours window, after initial posting, that a Forum topic/comment can be edited/deleted.
The only option at that point is to contact the Editor; editor@westseattleblog.com to request deletion.
As noted above, she is very busy, so may not respond right away.
Two things I can think of that may help the process, would be to indicate in the subject line that you are requesting a Forum post deletion, and to include the URL to this post in the body of the email, along with the explanation for the request.
Finally, good luck on your job search!

SueParticipantYou know, I’ll admit that I can be quick to report posts that totally violate rules here (like personal attacks). But the one thing I don’t report is people looking for work. Yes, it’s “against the rules” and people certainly have the right to report them if they wish. But I figure that if someone is posting on a message board to find work, they probably need to feed themselves and their family, and/or keep themselves from living on the street. I’m grateful to have a job, and I wish the same for them. Report people if you wish, but please let’s not shame people looking for work.

acemotelParticipantYup, totally agree with Sue. Trying to find a job is hard enough without having to deal with the self-appointed forum police. sheeesh.

VanessaParticipantSue, if you’re looking for some work in the meantime, give us a call. Care At Home of WA, Inc. Home Care Agency. WSBlog advertiser. 937-3100
You could do some on call or back up work until you find your next full time job.June 23, 2016 at 12:45 pm #848569
DianeParticipantthe issue is, there are many many many of us also looking for work who would love to post “job wanted” here, but most of us follow the rules, so it is upsetting when someone knowingly breaks the rules; clearly not the case here; I empathize and wish you well; there are still many of us searching for jobs to pay the rent and pay for basic needs
