The Youth Tutoring Program is hosting a fantastic summer academic enrichment program for disadvantaged youth living in Seattle Housing Authority neighborhoods this summer. Most kids lose at least three months of academic progress over the summer, and it’s our goal to keep that from happening with our students. Help us achieve our goal by volunteering with YTP just once a week for six weeks this summer from July 11th-August 19th.
Our Summer Learning Program is aimed to serve nearly 500 at-risk students in 1st – 8th grade who live in affordable public housing communities across Seattle. Our students come from diverse backgrounds–representing many nationalities, cultures, languages and religions. Our students have all participated in our school year program, and are excited to meet new tutors who will inspire them over the summer!
We are recruiting Summer Program Volunteers for afternoon (3:15-4:45) and early evening (5-7) tutoring sessions at High Point – 6400 Sylvan Way Southwest.
Volunteers are requested to help 1.5 hours per week, and be at least 16 years of age.

Since 1991, we’ve been successful in motivating our kids to thrive in school, and encouraging them to succeed in pursuing their life’s goals and dreams. Join us, and do something awesome for others this summer.
What volunteers say they like most about YTP:
“Getting to know my students, trying new ways to teach things, and getting a thrill when I see my students really have learned something.”
