Youth Tutoring ProgramParticipant
Meet your neighbors, and deepen your connection to your community –
Volunteer for the Youth Tutoring Program!
“What I like most about YTP is interacting with my neighbors! If it weren’t for the program, I wouldn’t know these kids or parents.”—YTP Volunteer
The Youth Tutoring Program, a part of Catholic Community Services, serves students in grades 1st -12th, who live in Seattle Housing Authority’s High Point community. Children and youth come in to the Center for tutoring twice a week, and build up a relationship with their tutors.
Volunteers support students in building math and reading skills, homework, and enrichment activities. Our program matches volunteers one-on-one with students to tutor and inspire them to succeed both academically and personally. If you have a passion about education and want to engage with your community, come tutor with us!
The High Point tutoring center is open the following times:
Mondays and Wednesdays for three sessions each: 4:20-5:20, 5:30-6:30, and 6:40-7:40.
Tuesdays and Thursdays for two sessions each: 5:30-6:30 and 6:40-7:40pm.
Volunteers sign up for two hours per week, and are asked to commit to volunteering for six months.
The minimum age for volunteering is 14, and High School students are encouraged to volunteer!
