I have a 7am appt at Swedish on Broadway. Driving from SW Roxbury area- what is the commute like? I never go to downtown at that hour. 6am departure okay or is it awful at that time? Earlier? I can’t miss appt I’ve waited months for! Thanks!!!

6 am departure should be plenty of time. I left home (Gatewood) this morning at 6:10 and was at 2nd and Seneca by 6:30. Likely you could leave later, maybe 6:15 and you would still be a bit early.

My route was WSB to 99N, then Seneca exit.

And I would throw in … check here before you go. If there is a MAJOR traffic incident (which is rare) on the bridge, Viaduct, or I-5, all bets are off. But if there is something big, we’ll be on it, as we start checking traffic around 6 am (earlier if we get a text about something on the local routes) … Good luck! – Tracy

I use the King 5 traffic app and it helps a lot, especially when going North having to choose between 99 and I-5.

Traffic should be fine, check the blog if you’re concerned before you leave the house. If you’re coming from Roxbury, do you even get on the bridge? Don’t you go down the big hill to marginal way and or 99?

Leave at 6:15 gives you time to drive and park.
