KatieHParticipantThe tiny ants have finally figured out where we live…Anyone have a favorite remedy?

LisaParticipantGo to TruValue Hardware and tell someone you’re trying to get rid of the ‘tiny ants’… they’ll know exactly what you are talking about. We used the little ‘gel traps’ (not sure of the brand) and they worked like a charm :) Good Luck!

kayoParticipantTry boric acid gel traps. “Intice Gelanimo are the best ones we have found…better than Terro. Do not use ant spray. It will only make things worse. Use windex to clean up any messes. Get professional help if all else fails. We use a pro after battling them ourselves for years, but if you can nip them in the bud now, you will probably be able to manage them yourself. Good luck. I am afraid our mild winter has not done us any favors in the battle of the ants.

JoBParticipanti am about to get professional help. i get rid of them for a short time then they come back in more than one location… sure indication that the nest has split :(

anonymeParticipantBe sure you wash the entry points and trails with something like Borax. If you don’t, they’ll follow the chemical markers right back inside.

We’re using a boric acid/sugar solution in hopes that they’ll carry boric acid bits back to the nest.

carterParticipantFauntleroy Crest is invaded yearly. Thanks for the reminder. We need to get on top of professional help. They recommend early Spring for treatment. In the meantime we use Ant Chalk to hold them at bay . . .

carterParticipantTR, next trip to Canada, I’ll go to China Town, pick some more up and drop it off to you. Effective because where you draw the line, the ants do not cross . . . how ever, you do not want crawling babies anywhere near it.

anonymeParticipantAnt chalk…even the packaging is poisonous. There are much safer methods. Laws restricting pesticides are lax enough in the USA without resorting to smuggling in lethal Chinese products.

amaliaParticipantI found the entrance where the buggers were coming in and just dabbed some stuff I bought at QFC or somewhere. Supposed to be pet-safe, but I didn’t spray, just did targeted dabbing. It works for awhile, then I just do it again. Effective if you can find the spot they are coming in and if the entry is not too extensive.

They did find alternate entries after a while, but I just keep dabbing those as well.
