JenVMemberI was so nervous to speak at the Handbags for Hunger event yesterday I forgot to thank the entity that made it all possible. Boy is my face red. So thank you so much, WSB for getting us all together for this great event. We raised a lot of $$ and a lot of women went home happy with new handbags. It was also a wonderful opportunity to meet neighbors and make new friends. Thanks also to everyone who showed up and made it great!

WSBKeymasterNo worries, we’ve had more than our fair share of publicity lately, and besides, it’s not about us … it’s about you guys. Without participants here, without readers all over the site, without the people who send us info and photos and/or let us show up in person to cover their events and lives … it’s just code and a server. Congratulations again for morphing a meetup into a boffo benefit!

JoBParticipantJenV..
you are right..
we forgot to thank WSB publicly..
but i can assure you that there was a lot of thanking in private conversations…
and those conversations were good. As i walked out the door.. i could see theHouse who was only going to drop by… earnestly engaged in conversation with a table full of bleeding heart liberals… and they were all laughing.
Without the opportunity to build community in your forums… yesterday would never have happened.
and that.. would be a shame….
so, thank you. We had a great time.
we only wish you had been able to join us…

JoBParticipantAlso.. thank you to the committe members who did the real work of putting this event together.
Thank you JenV… and VelvetBulldog…and both Charla and Bob of Charlabob.. and JanS… and Francine… and Tracey.. our sometimes not so silent member…
You rock!
And to everyone not mentioned who showed up on the day of the event and got to work…helping make this a success…
and to the forum members who showed up and braved a name tag with their sign in names on it and engaged in the spirit of the event and in spirited conversation…
And to Gary and his wife who run a mighty fine pub at Beveridge Place Pub….
and to Pete from the West Seattle food bank who not only stopped by but stayed to party with us all…
and thank you especially to those shining faces that walked out with the handbags languishing in the back of my closet… they were great bags.. they just didn’t work for me:)
now.. i have a little leprechaun business to take care of… for the real secret of this fairy goodmother is that she has an Irish heart:)
