Back from San Diego where I experienced the most interesting blend of Deep Tissue and Thai Massage.

I was contorted, trampled, and kneaded in ways I never imagined.

I think I grew an inch and now have more fluidity (that’s a word I use, ha!) thanks to 90 minutes of weird and wild punching, stretching, and stroking.

Anyone in Seattle know this wonderful and strange art?

This is not your average Lotus Spa Foot and Massage joint.

I would be interested in learning more.

A friend of mine is a massage therapist in Renton who does Thai massage and deep tissue – I don’t know if it’s exactly what you’re looking for, but you could give her a call and ask about it. I haven’t had a massage with her, so I’m not sure myself. http://www.centurymassage.com/cmb/About_Lyn.html

Eric Spivack on Beacon Hill is the best. He’s travelled to Thailand a few times to study. He also does acupuncture. I went to massage school with him in ’93-’94.

If you go see him, tell him Jan in West Seattle sent you :)

Jan, Eric had come up on my initial search. I’ve read that the acupuncture and Thai approach is an effective combination.

This massage was more traditional deep tissue with elements of Thai Massage and Stretching.

I would love to find the same here.
