agenschmitzParticipantThe folks over at Seaport Biofuels have updated their biodiesel pump so that you have a choice between B20, B50, and B99 (that’s 20, 50 and 99 percent biodiesel content to petroleum diesel), and the credit card payment machine is now also much easier to use. I stopped by on Monday as some folks (including the owner) were putting the finishing touches on the pump, and I was the first real customer to put it to use. The owner was kind enough to buy my tank fill to inaugurate it, so I thought I’d say thanks by spreading the word.

flowerpetalMemberYippee! We looked at this place on Sunday. Is it the pump that stands alone, behind the Shell station? Kinda at the corner of the fence? We will definitely be making use of that station, it is an easy access for us. We are appreciative of the Safeway having Bio, but we find ourselves going in the opposite direction. And Hans only has B100

agenschmitzParticipantThat is indeed where the pump is. I, too, appreciate Safeway’s entry into biodiesel, but the B20ness of it is just too low (though it did come in handy during this winter’s cold stretches). I’d also like to support Hans more, but sadly, it’s not as convenient (I sometimes like to fill up in the evening while driving our baby to sleep).

JillParticipantagenschmitz, thanks indeed for spreading the word! I didn’t know about this place. It looks like the URL for the linked text was stripped out of the original post, so in case anyone else is wondering, here’s the web site http://www.seaportbiofuels.com.
Edited because my link was wiped out, too. :)

ElliottParticipantI just filled-up at Safeway. They have switched their B20 to B5. Very disappointing. I will no longer be buying fuel from them. Plus at 3.50 a gallon for B5 – that is overpriced.

agenschmitzParticipantCrikey – how can you even call it biodiesel with a straight face if it’s B5?

WSBKeymasterI’ll mention this on the home page in the morning – already had a post in the works featuring a picture of a smart car, so this topic will dovetail nicely. A, thanks for posting it!
