DrumgypsyParticipantI would like to share my experience of dealing with Sleepers in Seattle in hopes that others may avoid a similar experience. I ordered an light grey leather ottoman on 6/24/2017. It is now 11/21/2017 and I still have not received the ottoman. I have contacted Sleepers in Seattle on six separate occasions. The response I continue to receive is that they do not know where the ottoman is. Paperwork received from Sleepers in Seattle states a maximum of 14-16 weeks, and was verbally told by the business that arrival of the ottoman could be as soon as 8 weeks. It has been 20 weeks with no indication from Sleepers in Seattle on where the ottoman is or when I can expect its arrival and delivery. I have repeatedly asked Sleepers in Seattle for a full refund, they continue to refuse. I contacted my CC company and reported this issue and was promptly refunded. I have also reported Sleepers in Seattle to the Better Business Bureau and found that 12 other individuals reported similar experiences. Warning to all . . .please avoid purchasing anything for them.

22bladesParticipantGo to their website, go to their “Blog” section and look at the author of most of the posts. (Note the quality of the photos)

Michael WaldoParticipantWhose web site are you referring too?
November 22, 2017 at 8:03 am #901614
Michael WaldoParticipantI went to Sleepers in Seattle site. Looked at blog. What is your point?
November 22, 2017 at 11:21 am #901630
seaopgalParticipantI also went to their website and looked at the blog and identified Meryl Alcabes (the store’s owner) as the primary contributor and looked at her photography website and saw a diverse, professional portfolio with some, but not exclusive emphasis on Jewish community events and rituals. There is certainly nothing wrong with the “quality” of her photographs, so I don’t think @22blades is making an allusion to the quality of the merchandise in question. Rather, I think the comment is pure antisemitism, and if so should either be deleted or immediately clarified.

newnativeParticipantI don’t see the connection between the sleepers in seattle blog and 22blades “antisemitism”.

KBearParticipantReally, Seaopgal? 22blades’ comment is cryptic, sure, but your accusation is a quite a stretch. That said, I don’t get the point, either.

birdrescuerParticipantKeeping in mind that this store has been attacked with swastikas and other hate symbols over the past few years, I am very suspect of the original post. When in doubt, don’t post if you are not sure of the offensiveness to others.
November 22, 2017 at 1:29 pm #901638
HappyOnAlkiParticipantSo what IS the point of the “go to their website” post?
November 22, 2017 at 1:30 pm #901640
birdrescuerParticipantCouldn’t tell you. It is the original post that bothers me.
November 22, 2017 at 2:14 pm #901643
seaopgalParticipantI hope I’m wrong. There are certainly other explanations for the cryptic comment. This is just the one that seems most likely to me given the previous incidents. https://westseattleblog.com/2016/02/sidewalk-swastika-outside-junction-business-for-second-time-in-half-a-year/

JanSParticipantI don’t think I would accuse, if I didn’t have proof. Especially something serious like that.
November 22, 2017 at 8:39 pm #901677
JanSParticipantI also went to the stores “blog.” And yes the articles were written by the store’s owner. It’s her blog, so I would expect the articles to be from her. Although WSB is technically not a blog per se, would we expect others in the community write for West Seattle Blog? Of course not. So, yes, 22 blades, what exactly was/is your point. Inquiring minds want to know. If someone is interested in perhaps shopping there, a better place to look would be reviews, and then make up your own mind.
