I stopped reading the original thread as soon as I saw wingnuts in it since I knew it was going to end badly. Like a child running with scissors. It’s all fun and games until someone loses and eye.

The link above may give those of you who are unfamiliar with the history of abuse and repression of the LGBT in this country prior to 1968.

I respect the comfort zone aspect of LGBT meetings and thus had no intention of posting on that thread or crashing the get together.

I have friends and relatives that are in, out and sometimes back and forth in that closet, even one who is a republican activist (why? damifino.)

For once I will not comment on Houses position or language since I did not read it, but I might see if I can find a relevant quote and link…

On September 1, 1935, this harsher, amended version of Paragraph 175 of the Criminal Code, originally framed in 1871, went into effect. Under this revised law and the creation of the Reich Special Office for the Combating of Homosexuality and Abortion: Special Office (II S), the number of prosecutions increased sharply, peaking in the years 1937-1939. Half of all convictions for homosexual activity under the Nazi regime occurred during these years.
