ARCjobsParticipantWe are a well-established non-profit organization who has been successfully providing recreation for families for over 40 years in the greater Seattle area. As a result of building communities together, we are currently serving 4,000 children daily spanning over 50 locations. We are committed to providing safe, affordable classes, lifelong learning programs and activities in the communities we serve all throughout the City of Seattle.
Due to our rapid growth and programming expansion, we are seeking a highly organized, and innovative Senior School-Age Child Care Director with the ability to think critically, and solve problems quickly. This person must be adept building strong collaborative relationships at all levels, while bringing an element fun to their work, team, and the organization.
As our new Senior Director you will oversee all personnel at multiple sites.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
•Supervisor for the day-to-day operations of 3 or more program locations with high student populations, diversity in program offerings, and activities within a diverse community.
•Connect daily with assigned sites to monitor and facilitate any changes needed to ensure the continued delivery of high quality, age appropriate, and culturally relevant programs.
•Advise the ARC Field Supervisor and/or Director of Field Operations on highly visible or sensitive issues essential to ARC program operations or personnel.
•Provide leadership to program staff using effective problem solving, conflict resolution, policy development and/or improvements.
•Ensure proper staffing levels for all sites and backfill as needed.
•Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and Department of Early Learning standards and guidelines.
•Other duties as assigned.To be successful in this role you will need the following minimum qualifications:
•Ability to effectively interact and connect with diverse individuals of all levels.
•Demonstrated success in using initiative, discretion, and sound judgement in decision making.
•Effective and clear written and verbal communication skills.
•Three or more years’ experience in program and facility operations for multiple locations, including budget oversight, preschool and/or school-age care programs preferred.
•Three or more years managing, mentoring, and developing staff, including employee evaluations, staff training and development, performance management, and hiring/termination recommendations.
•Good working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, including Department of Early Learning licensed programs.
•Have completed a minimum of 45 or more college credits or combination of one-third clock hours and two-thirds college credits in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Social Work, other child-related field including, but not limited to: art, music, and dance relevant to school-age children; recreation or leisure time activities, physical education, education, psychology, social services, home economics, or nutrition. Education may be substituted by providing evidence of ability to perform the tasks through a combination of education, training, or experience.
•Minimum of two years of experience working with school-age children.
•Documentation of current Red Cross First-Aid/CPR certification, HIV/AIDS blood-borne pathogens education and training, a valid King County food handlers permit, Washington State driver’s license, have cleared a TB test; 20 hours STARS training or documentation of exemption.
•Successful completion of a WA state and DEL background check.
•BS/BA degree in a related field or equivalent combination of related experience and education may be substituted.
•Must be 21 years of age or older.
•Valid Washington State Driver’s license.This is a full-time, Monday – Friday 40 hours per week year-round position.
