GenHillOneParticipantI’m almost afraid to ask because I think I just might be having a mis-fire of the brain! I’m trying to find RR on a particular topic and can’t figure out how to search the forums. Am I missing something? I don’t want to ask for a recommendation on a service that I know has already been addressed on at least two occasions.

AnonymousInactiveIf you still need help, tell us what it was related to and about how long ago, I bet someone will find it and get you the link.

JoBParticipantwhere is janS when we need her?
She seems able to find anything so she must use some form of search.

WSBKeymasterThe forums are crawled by Google but our site search currently only searches the news content. Our technical consultant has offered some solutions for that and I hope to implement one soon since obviously site search should be whole-site search. In the short run, you might try just regular ol’ Google – for example, if your topic is a housecleaner, I just went to google.com and put in wsb forum housecleaner – clicking the “more results from westseattleblog.com” link under the second result brought up several more including an actual forum post about a housecleaner recommendation. Sorry it’s such a hassle, we will do our best to fix it — TR

hopeyParticipantHere, this should make it a lot easier. Try plugging this search into google:
site:westseattleblog.com/blog/forum house cleaner
or
site:westseattleblog.com/blog/forum repair
If you want to search the entire site, blog articles and the forum, just drop the “/forum” from the search.

GenHillOneParticipantThanks guys; that works – especially with the “more results” route. I just didn’t want to post a redundant request!

squareeyesParticipantArgh! I had to search to find this thread to figure out how to search for a topic. I’d be most grateful if hopey’s wonderful quick instruction on how to search via google be added to the front of the forum page if it’s not too much trouble.
