Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team. This position requires a skilled individual with excellent communication skills, we are seeking a dynamic team oriented and project driven individual. This person shall be able to handle multiple projects and duties as well as meet deadlines. This position is primarily responsible for preparation of general ledger information, financial statements, statistical reports, variance analysis reports, and overhead expense allocation. Also reconciles fixed asset and construction in progress accounts (CIP) each month. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assists in the preparation of the monthly financial statements in a timely manner which includes creating journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis as well as:
•Maintains details and explanations for journal entries and submits to Accounting Manager for approval.
•Assist in the preparations of reports to various agencies as assigned.
•Maintains information supporting the allocation of overhead expense. Allocates overhead for internal and external reporting.
•Assists in the preparation of budget variance analysis reports.
•Assists in general accounting functions such as payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
•Assists in annual financial audit including preparation of audit schedules.
•Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Senior Accountants.
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field / Equivalent experience in related field will be considered.
•Ten key calculator by touch.
•Experience in Healthcare or Community health is a plus.
•Highly advanced Excel Skills preferred
•Proficient in Accounting Software, Microsoft Office
•English required; English/Spanish preferred.
