We just had a new roof put on our house. The previous experience with a roofing company 20 years ago was horrible so we were very worried that history would repeat itself. We searched for a roofing company that did not use day labor and was family owned. We found “A Better Roofing Company” via the internet. They are great. They communicate well in all phases of the process from the first sales call through the roof being installed. They went out of their way to contain all removed roofing debris and left our property as clean as it was before the job. The roof is a thing of beauty ( if a roof can be one ). I would recommend them to anyone that needs a roofing job done right.

I think everyone who is facing a new roofing job goes through the same anguish. It’s a costly endeavor and you can only hope it is done right.

I was facing the same about 10 years ago and after several estimates and checking references I settled on “A Better Roofing Company”. They seemed knowledgeable and their estimate seemed okay. They quickly removed the old roofing and re-roofed the whole house in less than 3 days total. There wasn’t as much as an old roofing tack left and I was happy with their work.

Then about 5 years later, we had a heavy wind and rain storm. A leak developed and I had water dripping from a light fixture in the bathroom! I called them since they guarenteed their work and they came in the driving rain to check. An old TV aerial that was still attached to the roof had come loose and tore it’s footing. They tarped the roof until the rains subsided and then fixed it. I also asked them to take down what was left of the aerial. No more leaks after that and they wouldn’t take a dime for the repair or the removal of the aerial. They are at the top of my roofing company list for sure!

Now, I just need to find someone to replace a couple of storm doors….

    Skip Bruce’s Roofing!

All the prep and sales experiences were wonderful. Day of the job, no one so much as said ‘Hello’ to us before our house was swarmed with more than a dozen men, none of whom appeared to speak English. The team worked VERY quickly, threw roof grunge and pop cans all over our yard.

Once we figured out who was in charge o the team, he seemed completely uninterested in our desire to have the job slow down and be more respectful of our space. They unnecessarily parked in ways that blocked access to the neighborhood without any pylons or signs to let people know they’d be stuck. They blared music from their work trucks all day, and were bothered that I asked them to turn them down, then at 5:00 to shut them of while people came home from work.

The finished product is nicely done, but we could not recommend them based on the behavior of the team that did the work.
