StringCheeseParticipantI just had the most amazing experience with the folks at Illusions and stylist, Whitney. My daughter, who has been growing her hair for years (much to my annoyance) finally decided to get it cut and donate to Locks of Love. She’s in that awkward pre-teen stage of not really being served well by “children’s” salons but not old enough for most adult salons to want to take on. So, my search began for a West Seattle salon that clearly offered services to older kids/teens as well as adults. Luckily, my search led me to Illusions.

They finagled it so that we could be seen on the same day and I brought my nervous but excited 5th grader to the salon. Whitney was amazing at calming my daughter’s nerves and provided excellent service, making sure to honor my daughter’s wishes without being condescending.

Had I read down the Illusions website a bit further, I would have noticed that Illusions is one of the salons that volunteers their services for Locks of Love cuts. I had no idea until we finished and they told us we didn’t need to pay! Considering this, it was even more heartwarming to see that they did not cut corners on the service (no pun intended) because it was free. Whitney spent an hour with my daughter doing the LoL cut, wash, haircut, and styling. It was the most amazing hair experience my daughter has ever had.

This is the type of caring and professionalism that sticks with me. Their amazing service from phone call to blow-dry has created two loyal, future, paying customers. Thank you Whitney and Illusions!

SueParticipantIllusions is one of the nicest salons I’ve ever been to. They give much of their time to charities and the community. I’ve never walked out with a bad haircut. I see Rita there, but have seen others in the past, and have never had an issue.

PangolinPieParticipantThanks for this – I was just about to make an appointment elsewhere to get this mysteriously-appearing grey hair covered up. I’ll go to these folks instead!

PangolinPieParticipantAaaaaand…strike that last comment. They’re closed on weekends! That’s bizarre.
