dunnkldParticipantA Big Rave for those motorists and others who stopped to help me when I had a bike crash around 2:30 PM Sunday, November 20th in the left turn lane at the north end of Lincoln Park. I was returning from Westwood to my home in Alki, ironically after spending the day posting memorial silhouettes for traffic collision victims on World Remembrance Day. I could easily have been run over, but all the cars stopped and looked out for me until I could clear the roadway. I had a concussion and went to Highline ER where they gave me a CAT scan and all is OK, I’m just a little sore. I think I may have lost my magnetic helmet headlight when my helmet hit the ground (it cracked by the way… so always wear your helmet). If anyone found the headlight I would like to get it back. I will also post it in Lost and Found

miwsParticipantI’m sorry this happened to you, dunnkld. I trust that your Dr/Highline are continuing to keep an eye on you since head injury issues can be kind of sneaky, even when everything seems okay?
In any case, Healing Thoughts to you, and I hope your light turns up! :-)

WSBKeymasterOh no! Sorry to hear this. Had no idea, even hours later as I was writing the story to go with Leda’s photos of you guys placing the silhouettes. Looking at the archived SFD log for the day, it appears to have been an “aid” call and that doesn’t reveal anything about the nature of the call. Hope someone finds your light, which I see you’ve posted separately. – Tracy

dunnkldParticipantMy memory of the event is very fuzzy. If someone called for aid I’m not aware of it, though I heard people kindly offering to take me home I insisted on going home under my own power. I must have been riding on “auto pilot” and in shock because my only memory of how I got home was looking down at my handlebars and noticing they were slightly askew. It’s a pedal assist bike so I didn’t have to pedal very hard. Then my husband drove me to the ER on the advice of my health insurance help line.
