makekaiParticipantI’m wondering if anyone else in 98116 has had problems with USPS mail delivery.
I chronically have mail returned and not delivered and it’s a real mystery.
The postal office manager seems at a loss/thoroughly uncompelled. In fact, when I called to ask what might be happening he put me on hold, came back on and told me was sorry but he “spaced out” and didn’t remember what we had been talking about.

sbreParticipantOne of my neighbors has had half-a-dozen or more pieces of mail and/or packages delivered to them by the USPS for the same address but on a different street, she too reports a less than concerned response the couple times she called to complain about it.

newnativeParticipantI had my personal mail delivered to the wrong address, coincidentally my former employer who then opened it and destroyed the envelope. I was a receptionist at a retirement home on California Ave and know that one carrier mis-delivers a lot.

squareeyesParticipantI frequently get mail for 40th Ave SW when I’m on 48th. It’s not like any of the envelopes have illegible writing either. I actually ran after the mail carrier recently to give an envelope back, told him it’s happened many times, and he said the scanner misreads it and so it goes to the wrong address.

VVTParticipantI’m in 98116, too. For years we had the same mail carrier every day – Joe – but sometime last year we started having a different mail carrier almost every day. 2-3 times a week my mail is put into my neighbor’s mail box, which is right next to mine, and we have our names labeled on our boxes. Also, twice in the last year I’ve had mail from other houses down the street delivered to me. I was tempted to keep the massage coupons!

GinaParticipantOften mail for the 2600 blocks south of Admiral get mixed with the 2600 block on the north side. But only west of California. Has happened since long before scanners. Must be something.about the combination of house numbers and street numbers that make it easy to mix up.

miwsParticipantI remember 50 years ago occasionally running misdelivered mail to the folks with the same house number, but two blocks away from us, in the Charlestown water tower/Belvidere neighborhood.
