HRGDIVINGParticipantGlobal Diving & Salvage, Inc. is the largest diving contractor on the West Coast, based out of Seattle, WA, a leading provider of marine construction and infrastructure support services in the United States, and an internationally recognized casualty responder.
We are currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Seattle, WA. The Project Engineer is the primary technical lead on underwater construction projects, who develops and monitors work plans, designs tools and equipment and is responsible for overall quality control of the work.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Project Logistics
Support of both inland and offshore subsea construction projects
Develop, evaluate, track and update all work plans and submittals associated with projects
Perform quality control and oversight of contractors
Report directly to the VP of Marine Construction or Project Manager on the schedule and quality of the overall project
Assist in estimating and proposals for underwater construction projects
Prepare and update project schedules
Assist, project and advise on the personnel needed for upcoming jobs by evaluating specific requirements of each project in relation to current capabilities of the workforce
Design and fabricate specialty underwater tools and equipment
Design construction support equipment
Perform calculations, design parts and equipment to proper codes and standards; oversee fabrications
Execute machine drawings
Coordinate underwater work activities
QualificationsEducation
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor of Science in Engineering required
Experience
5+ years experience in field engineering and logistics required
3+ years experience in underwater construction required
Knowledge/Skills
Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills
Working knowledge of diving regulations and safe diving practices
Working knowledge of standard construction practices and law
Experience in computer aided design (CAD) and drafting
Construction estimating / bidding
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with members of the office and operational staff
Strong computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite
Physical / Mental Requirements
Perform work in office and field settings
Travel as needed for projects
Be available after hours and on weekends as needed
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background screen
Valid driver’s license, valid auto insurance, clean driving record for prior 3 years
