His clients have ranged from Microsoft to Toyota to Smirnoff, Sony and Rolling Stone. He has shot the world’s highest-powered executives to legendary celebrities and was assigned by Esquire magazine to shoot President Clinton. He has created album covers for No Doubt, Ice Cube and Lou Reed and excels in environmental portraiture. Daniel revels in creating vibrant illustration collage-style fine art pieces that explode a viewer’s mind with wonder, questions and amusement. His canvases are filled with surprises and profound usualness that converge into a special breed of artistic genius.
With a devastating eye for lighting, Daniel’s style is impeccable with a slight edge. A sought after advertising photographer, he has an uncanny ability to instinctively convey a message through images.
Daniel comes from a pedigree fine art education at the San Francisco Institute where he studied painting and sculpture and the Art Center of Pasadena where he worked in advertising photography — both schools awarded him full scholarships. His work has been featured in Communication Arts magazine, on many covers of Photo District News and most recently he was honored with a first-place Alternative Pick award for CD design.
Though he can be found wandering the far corners of the earth with his camera, Daniel is based in Los Angeles and Seattle.Some clients include,Warner Brothers, Pepsi,MTV, Evian, Pepsi, Toyota, Capitol Records, Adidas, Vogue, Money Mag, Detour Mag, Smirnoff, Yonex, Microsoft, Hilton, RCA, Details Mag, Seiko, Lexus, Revlon, Forbes, Priority Records, and Dewers Scotch.
Introduction to Studio Lighting
Mastering the tools of lighting is the key to mastering studio photography. In this workshop, students will gain a solid foundation of studio lighting and practical knowledge of light. Working hands-on with the equipment, participants will learn how to select the proper light source for their subjects whether shooting portraits, still life or product.
Lighting and Portraiture
Lighting on location takes planning from scouting, to time of day and determining the quality of light. Artificial, ambient, strobe, exploring leds, fluorescents and low level lighting situations will be covered to achieve a style to express personal style. The emphasis is to gain knowledge to light on location with natural and artificial light in various environments. Demonstrations and photoshop will be discussed to keep with current trends. The class will have assignments and critiques.

Students must supply their own cameras, Private lessons involving lighting techniques or software such as Photoshop and/or Lightroom may incur equipment, studio and digital darkroom fees.
Classes will be held at the Fauntleroy Hall in West Seattle.
