I’m looking for a terrific personal financial planner in West Seattle. I have a tax guy and investment advisors, but I’d like someone who can help me design my approach to my finances over the next few years. I would rather not work with someone who’s selling me products, so I think that means they would be fee-based, not commission-based. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Trileigh,

Are your advisors technically brokers? You’re absolutely right about being fee-based, and I admit I’m curious to know why your advisors are not who you choose to work with in the design of your approach to your finances.

A fiduciary, fee-based investment advisor is legally required to not only have in-depth knowledge of your financial situation before making any recommendations on investments/planning, but they also have to put your best interest above their own.
