Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. is the largest diving contractor on the West Coast, based out of Seattle, WA, a leading provider of marine construction and infrastructure support services in the United States, and an internationally recognized casualty responder.
We are currently seeking a Payroll/Accounting Clerk to join our team in Seattle, WA. The Payroll/Accounting Clerk is responsible for assisting with the full-life cycle payroll processing including preparing and distributing payroll and assisting AP/AR in timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers and follow up- inquiries.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Key payroll hours using Microsoft Dynamics Navision (NAV);
Assist with preparation of certified payrolls;
Weekly monitoring of unemployment claims and disbursement for managers review;
Mail/email copies of paystubs, timecards, expense report reimbursements or payroll related information to employees.
Follow-up as needed with HR for hiring paperwork;
Process new employees, enter contact information, emergency contacts and NAV information;
Process employee status changes;
Update employee contact information in Outlook and NAV;
Assist with processing AP invoices in NAV;
File paid invoices and create new labels for files on a weekly basis;
Process and mail monthly AR statements to customers;
Mail weekly billings
AA in Accounting or related
BA degree preferred
1+ years experience in a processing payroll required
1+ years experience in an accounting or similar role required
Experience in the maritime or construction industry preferred
Experience with unions preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Advanced organizational skills
Strong attention to detail
Must demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
Excellent interpersonal and team skills
Excellent Microsoft Suite skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Knowledge of Federal and State tax laws, wage and hour laws
Physical / Mental Requirements
Perform work in an office setting
Be available after hours and on weekends as needed
