    Job:

“don’t you tired of this?” — No. I am relentless in the pursuit of Truth.

“FYI.. the two groups of people you mention were the root cause of that emancipation you cite..” –Duh. Those who wanted slaves were in conflict with those who didn’t think it was right. Of course, I know that you disagree with this because they were all evil white men.

“if this were true. .the disparity between the incomes of the middle class and those of the wealthy would not be so large…” — The elite who enjoy the upper end of the wealth disparity all supported Hillary to continue Obamas policies–Bezos, Zuckerberg, Gates, Buffet, Soros, and everyone on Wall Street don’t want anything to change. Locally, Seattle has been under 100% progressive liberal control for a long time and disparity is worse than it’s ever been. Other liberal cities like Chicago, San Francisco, and Baltimore have enormous wealth gaps. Where is the evidence that iron-fisted progressive liberal policies reduce wealth disparity?

“Are you one of those who would welcome McCarthyism Captain Dave?” I welcome a serious congressional investigation into subversive activities of foreign-funded organizations. I think there is sufficient evidence that un-americn activities have been instrumental in brainwashing half the country into believing non-sense. The people who are responsible for attempting to transform America into a socialist/communist country should be removed from government. I don’t think it’s natural for people to be marching for tyranny. But that’s just my opinion.

“Is it ok with you if i spread rumors about you.. if i can get enough people to say it’s true.. then who needs due process.. ” — Haven’t you done this already? Where was your due process and evidence in accusing me of being a white supremacist, racist, and misogynist because I voted for Trump? You claimed that the color of my skin made me a privileged white male who owes retribution for all the alleged ills of my ancestors–(even though my family din’t come here until after slavery ended). If your logic were valid, than I should be receiving retribution for the oppression from the descendants of those who ran the Ottoman empire.

“that was the process that defined McCarthyism” — I don’t care about what the process was, I am making a point about the cause that started the concern–which was too much communist influence in our government. I trust our government to follow the law now that we have some honorable people in office.

Redblack: I prefer to debate rather than fight. Why do liberals so often want to resort to violence when they run out of meaningful words? If logical discussion doesn’t work for you, then just abstain. Otherwise, you can usually find me down on the docks.

Lincoln was the furthest thing from Marx because he advocated for individual freedom, not collectivism. He remained consistently resolute in pursuit of equal rights, even though he was managing a country that was ideologically torn apart by slave holding Democrats. Why do you think Trump held the inauguration at the Lincoln Memorial?

You claim that Trump represents the 1% aristocracy that financed Clinton? You make no sense.

By the way, what’s with James Hoffa praising Trump? Are you lefties going to start trashing the teamsters now?

Bravo Captain Dave, bravo. You are one of the most intelligent posters on this blog regarding politics and yet they still continue to post such nonsense.

I tend to agree with you on the civil war. What is scary to me is if it begins, the Liberals will be the first to throw the first punch. Then blame the right.

Big high five to you Obama supporters, he swam out of that swamp of his right after he gave $221 MILLION dollars to the Palestinians. Atta boy!

Now if someone will just remove his face off of the bus shelter at 35th and Thistle, my week will be made!

    Captain Dave..

it’s is not ok with me when you make things up and then accuse me of them.

“Where was your due process and evidence in accusing me of being a white supremacist, racist, and misogynist because I voted for Trump?”

Although i do challenge the stuff you throw at the wall i have never accused you of being a white supremacist, racist or misogynist.. and certainly not because you voted for Trump.

I do think your vote was foolish… and if your ideas weren’t so dangerous i would think them foolish too.

You do a lot of reading between the lines.. adding content that isn’t there my friend.

T Rex: Thanks. I try to bring a different perspective to this forum. Seattle has very little intellectual diversity compared to much of the country so many people here aren’t generally receptive to things that don’t fit a specific rehearsed liberal-progressive narrative that keeps radical leftists in control of the City.

JoB: It’s funny how quickly you forget the vile racist things you and JanS posted before the election. I don’t forget so easily. But I also understand that liberalism is an ideology that prioritizes Alinsky tactics above truth.

Waynster: I don’t comment much on CCN politics coverage anymore because it is always so blatantly false. You can argue differently, but the fact of the matter is the Democrat party is at its lowest point in 90 years while CCN continues to feed you contrary propaganda. You can continue to exclusively source your news from biased liberal sources, but it’s at your own peril because it’s not reality. The best cure for Liberal Fantasy Disorder (LFD) is to open your mind to news sources that are not controlled by the small group of elite plutocrats that fund leftist subversion efforts. When you do this, it makes it much easier to see the BS.

Rasmussen reports 57% approval of Trump’s agenda:

The reality is, you devout leftists are truly being relegated to the back of the bus because of the lunacy you embrace–probably for at least the next couple decades. Enjoy the ride.

I am not. Trump fan, all these people who name call and belittle others are no better the Trump himself. Better to say the ideas you don’t like rather the the childish words and behAviors. Time for everyone to be a respectful adult and chow how’s it’s done.

    Captain Dave..

it’s sad that you either have so little memory accuracy or such poor reading comprehension.

I can’t speak for what JanS may or may not have called you.. because i was not policing her posts..
but i am very clear about the difference between trashing ideas and trashing people..
your accusations clearly fall under the banner of trashing people.. something i do not do.

Did i trash your ideas? you bet i did.. and i will continue to do so.
but labelling.. aka .. name calling? nope.
even though you indulge .. i am very careful not to.

i truly wish you could say the same.

i’m calling you out right here, boss.

you refuse to talk about your endless false assertions that i want government to tax rich people, simply so that i can quit my job and live languidly in a socialist utopia.

keeping this post brief so that we can get right to the heart of my problem with you, williamf64, T Rex, and the rest of the breitbots.

topic: the difference between what you say i and your other “hardcore leftist” neighbors believe and what we actually believe.

i’ve told you before, dave: i’m a capitalist, just like you.

i believe in a regulated economy that works for everyone. the more you reap from the economy, the more you pay in taxes. i believe wages should be high enough so that people really can pull themselves up by their bootstraps – without working two or three crappy jobs to do it. that requires government protection for our private manufacturing and construction sectors. i believe that the big money should be prevented from buying politicians; and if corporations really are people, they should be patriotic enough to invest some of their profits back into our free markets without being hounded by the government.

it’s simple, man. my theory is that the government defines and enforces the rules of the game. they don’t put on a helmet. but it needs the authority to protect its people.

there are exceptions for things like roads, water, and power, and, increasingly, telecommunication systems. these are part of the infrastructure of the playing field – the commons – and should be guaranteed to all americans at reasonable cost.

can you knock it off with the red scare straw man b.s. now?

I am enjoying watching tv now. What a refreshing change. Enforcement of the laws. Getting rid of bad deals. Stopping bad mortgage laws. Spurring the engine of Capitalism. Wasn’t Melania regal on Inauguration Day? Look at what Trump has spurred too due to your dislike of him. A historic Women’s March. No doubt. Although I just don’t remember a stained blue dress March. Hypocrisy. And I hope Madonna gets a a few days in jail for what she said. Oh and Chelsea Handler’s remarks about Melania. Since Melania speaks five languages I wonder how many Chelsea speaks? So these women want respect but speak in mean and disrespectful ways to people who they disagree with?! Hypocrisy. Watching TV is patriotic… LOL

“these women” …speaks it all..you disrespect those who don’t agree with you, as many other men do. I’m pretty sure that you were off doing something else locally while the very respectful march of 200,000 men, women and children in Seattle. Chelsea Handler? Not crazy about her…but 1st Amendment and all, she had every right to say what she did, as a citizen of these United States. Disrespect? Chew on this… http://www.bostonglobe.com/news/nation/2017/01/24/sexist-vulgar-posts-women-marches-rebound-officials/6MPXp917nnsTYPlmstOq3K/story.html?event=event25

these are elected, government officials. They have been given permission by the head guy to say these things by what he has said and done in the past. And this is not a one-off. This happens every day, over and over again, and has since I was a young woman. It is common in these United States of America…women live with it all their lives. Just go to social media..Reddit, Facebook…read what men say about women, post about women. My nephew and his friends make terrible jokes about women they don’t deem attractive enough. Your commander-in-chief does , too..giving them permission too. Ask the gentleman, the elected official, who has been arrested for assault, after he grabbed a woman’s ass, and then said that he doesn’t have to be PC anymore now. But if a woman makes one comment about Roger Ailes being a fat f*&k, an ugly man who has harmed women, an arrogant slob of an old ugly man, , we are called out by holier than though men..not singling out him…just an example.Disrespect? SMFH ! Go read a damned book, Rich…you really have no idea about disrespect…

    HMCRich..
    You thought Melania looked regal?
She looked scared to death to me… afraid that she would say or do something wrong…
and was that really the way you think a husband should treat his wife?
or a President his first lady?
    really?

JoB: I think it was more about fear of assassination from batsh*t crazy leftists. He had her stand a bit away for safety. Must you be so critical of everything about your new president? Trump has done more to fix the problems of this country in four days than Obama did in eight years!

JoB, Did Bill Clinton treat his wife with respect while he was in office and before then? He almost got impeached for that indiscretion and was disbarred. Big difference between the Obama’s and the Trumps. At least both of those women from spartan beginnings have been very successful. Even Hillary with her squeamish ethics has an impressive resume and has helped women. About the only women that weren’t welcomed were the pro-lifers and even many of them marched although they had to be quiet due to the judgmental Pro-choice attendees. Even Whoopie Goldberg, who I love, said it was a mistake to ban them. When you moderate on some items like I know you can then we can have a substantive conversation and you can let me know how I can help your cause. I have a pretty good idea but since I am male I am certain there are things right in front of me that I haven’t recognized.

HMCRich.. did President Clinton publicly treat his wife with respect? Yes, he did.
Did he cheat and thereby disrespect both her and their marriage .. yes.. he did.
have i ever defended his cheating? no. have i ever defended anyone cheating on their marriage? no.

The Donald fails on both counts :(
Not anything i would be proud of if i were you… and certainly not anything you can excuse by pointing out that someone else cheated…

As for your assertion that “pro-lifers” were not allowed to march in the women’s march.. there was one group of pro-lifers who were disinvited from speaking… but i have it on pretty good authority. .from someone who was actually there and politically connected that there were indeed “pro-lifers” in the crowd.

i have put quotes around the phrase you used “pro-lifers” because the reality is that they are anti-abortion.. not pro-life… pro life would assume an interest in the welfare of children who are carried to term… one that is sadly lacking in too many.. and in particular.. in the group that was disinvited to speak.

btw.. they weren’t disinvited to speak because they were “pro-life” but because the message they wanted to disseminate and the manner in which they wanted to disseminate it was disruptive.. and the core principle for this march was peaceful demonstration.

You can choose to disbelieve that if you want.. . you can choose to disbelieve anything…

but i would remind you that Bill Clinton wasn’t nearly impeached because of his “relationship” with Monica.. he was nearly impeached because of a lie… ironically.. he tried to hide the truth of his cheating from his wife…

So which lie do you think will get Trump impeached.. or do you think they will simply put him aside on the basis of his instability so the guy the Republicans really stand behind.. Pence.. can assume a Presidency he could never win in a general election?

    worth pondering
