hooper1961Memberwhy does NASCAR need a blankity subsidy? It is stupid for taxpayers to provide subsidy to NASCAR. In fact getting rid of pork riders is needed. Don’t the politicians get it; the US is in debt not up to our ears but way way past them.
From the news today the new tax revenue basically is being erased by pork subsidies with NASCAR just one example.

hammerheadParticipantAgreed I saw that last week and just about fell over backwards. This does not make sense at all. Talking about calling in some “favors” huh?

JoBParticipantnow you are talking..

JanSParticipantlast fall I had to laugh at the post on Facebook, etc., about politicians having to wear nascar suits just like nascar drivers, with all the emblems of their “sponsors” – who they are accepting money from…would be enlightening, I’m sure….

hammerheadParticipantsadly all the pork stuff has not gotten any press and yet this is why “we” are in the place we are in. Who allows this stuff to be put on, that is the stuff I don’t get. Is it Obama and/or congress I mean how is it that all this bickering over health insurance and not passing anything to help the super sandy storm victims and yet they can pass all this pork crap.

hooper1961Memberit is career politicians working to the next election not giving a rats ass about those in the middle simply trying to make ends meet. they are paying back their sponsors be it corporations or unions. both the R’s and D’s are equally responsible.
January 7, 2013 at 6:19 am #781933
hammerheadParticipantI agree on that. I guess since nascar did not get their track up north they feel they are owed something.
I thought at one time the “pork stuff” was not going to be allowed any more. Well so much for “change”
January 7, 2013 at 7:40 am #781934
JanSParticipantthe pork stuff comes directly from congress, either side of the house…they are the ones who submit bills to be passed or not, and who decide where to spend the money. I guess they feel like they’re taking care of their (sometimes stupid) constituent’s wants..

anonymeParticipantI’d like to see the individuals responsible for this pork named and shamed. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if they are among the most vociferous proponents of deep spending cuts and extreme austerity measures…

waynsterParticipantIts what one calls the good ole boys compromise to pass the fiscal cliff….which house rep or senator put it in would be the big question……and they complain about the little guy getting to much on his or her SS…
