Hello! Just moved to the Seattle side of the border of White Center and Highland Park. Need to set up internet service, just for basic video watching, internet access and telecommuting. What do people recommend?

Comcast/Xfinity. Period. Full Stop. Century Link is a joke at any service tier, wholly unreliable (in comparison) and beyond obnoxious with their sales tactics.

Aside from that, welcome to the neighborhood!

I have the opposite reaction. Century Link has been fantastic for me on their fiber service. Comcast has done some shady advertising over the years that tricked me and cost me a lot of money.

Either way you’re stuck with one of the two of the duopoly. They both work, but neither of them will be anywhere close to acceptable in terms of customer service and price.

Depending on your income level you might be eligible to get a hotspot for $10/ mo. I have one and it works great! Plus you have the added benefit of it being mobile.
Go to interconnection.org if you want more details.
