This year the Cretins M.C. are combining two events. Saturday is the TT, sunday is the Mods and Rockers Ride.

If you remember from last year, the TT is the timed trials thru the streets of seattle. We send out 2 or 3 Cretins out on the city streets along the route, we take their times, average them and wiothout telling you public what the time is, you go out and ride the course. You come back, whoever has the time closest to the Cretin average wins prizes and all the fame that goes with it.

Posted Speed limits and all rules of the road will apply to EVERYONE!

First rider out at 6pm, last rider out at 8pm, prizes at 10 pm, party to follow.

Sunday morning is the Mods and Rockers Ride. It will leave the clubhouse at noon. 3600 East Mariginal Way.

    The Cretins M.C. Philosophy:

We strive to interact with motorcyclists who focus on vintage, cafe, and “streetfighter” bikes. A club of misfits of the motorcycle world, the Cretins MC brings these elements together providing a unified entity for this overlooked/underappreciated segment of motorcycling. The Cretin aesthetic loosely resembles the bygone days of the British Rocker clubs. We are by no means an “Outlaw Club”…just a motorcycle lovin’ bunch with a pint of Pabst and a 10mm wrench if you need it.

    The Bikes:

The lineup of Cretin bikes is quite diverse. On any given Thursday we may have a CB450 Black Bombers, an old Guzzi, various ’60’s & 70’s Honda Twins & Fours, BMW /5’s, tricked out Yamahas, and a few newer bikes (Ducatis, Buells, & Triumphs) to round out the herd. The Cretins are dedicated to keeping old bikes on the road and helping others do the same!

How many motorcycles expected? Sounds like it might be WSB video time :) – TR

We have had 100 plus scooters, mopeds and motorcycles on the ride the last 3 years. I can give you a heads up on the route and aprox. times.

The ride ends up at the Alki Tavern. Always fun watching the Harley Crowd as we pull in with 100 plus vintage motorcycles, cafe racers, and scooters.

Todd: Is the Sunday ride open to all scooters or just vintage? I have a 2005 Vino.

    #628561

Thanks Todd – I’m really interested in this. Is there a website w/ all the info? I’m wondering how long the ride on Sunday is. Thanks for posting! Hope to see you there!

I wish we had a cafe racer! Unfortunately our bike is too big and Italian. We’ll try to make it out to watch anyway. Thanks for posting this Todd!

OMG how did I miss this? I am a scooter girl in my heart, though I am afraid to ride in Seattle. Soclwrkrinmotn had a bike for a long time, but also isn’t too keen on riding here. Someday we’ll get over it and get a bike of one sort or another!

Thanks for just cruising past my house!

I was too hung-over to ride my bike down. :-)~

We were happily surprised to see you all as you were crossing East Marginal. It was fun to see and we followed behind until you turned onto California Avenue. It was very organized and looked like everyone was having a great time, even those that were a bit wobbly!

Saw the whole group of about (75 or so?) cruising down Alki – it was very cool to see the Vespas (mods) keeping up with the motorbikes (rockers)! VROOM VROOM

my count, once we arrived at the Alki Tavern, was 105 scooters and motorcycles. More showed up later as there was some that fell off the group and got lost.

Aim – try to jump the ferry and ride on Vashon. I learned to ride over there and it was so nice – good roads and not a lot of traffic!
