PmjantzParticipantI am writing on behalf of Seattle Glee Clubs, a local, nonprofit adult amateur singing organization, We are in the process of looking for new rehearsal space. We were wondering if you might be able to help spread the news to see if there is a local business or church that might have a space for us.
The Seattle Glee Clubs has been in existence for 25 years. We have rehearsed in West Seattle for over 11 years. We currently have two subgroups: the Seattle Metropolitan Singers (The Met)and the Offbeats. We rehearse from September through May, and perform concerts from October through June. We also sing at retirement communities, community centers, and The Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition to benefit Pike Place Senior Center. In addition to bringing music into the lives of our community, we support other local nonprofits benefitting women and children such as Mary’s Place and LifeWire by collecting donations at our concerts.
We are looking for space for up to 35 people to rehearse on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30 – 9:30 pm. There may be occasions when additional evenings might be needed. We are also looking for secure storage for file cabinets of music, amplifiers, microphones and other accessory equipment.
We have been taking the next few months to find just the right fit for our organization. We are looking to forge a long-term relationship with a corporate sponsor, church, school, performance space or warehouse that would be willing to offer us a very low rate of rent for a tax write-off. Promotion of the corporate sponsor through our members, website, and concert programs would be one of the benefits.
More information about the Seattle Glee Clubs can be found on our website http://www.seattlegleeclubs.org.
I look forward to all replies and the possibility of creating a relationship with a local entity for a mutually benefitting proposal. You can email me at pmjantz@gmail.com
Sincerely,
Phyllis Jantz
Board Vice President and Seattle Metropolitan Singers member
