BonnieParticipantHow long have you all lived in West Seattle?
I’ve been here since ’90…so it will be 18 years this summer. (although my husband has lived here in WS all his life and I doubt he’ll ever leave!)

JanSParticipantI’m a transplant from the east coast (ex-hubby was born and raised in West Seattle, WSHS class of ’70). I came here in January of 1975, so have been here for 33 years. Guess I almost qualify for native status :)

charlabobParticipantWe moved up from the SF Bay area in 1999 (moved to WS January 1, 2000.) Feels longer to us too, JoB–usually in a good way but sometimes…in the dead of winter…I want to fly south.

LAintheJunctionParticipantSeattle since 1990 (from Walla Walla, no less), and WEST Seattle since 1997. Wasted those first seven years on Capital Hill, Wedgewood, Lake Forest Park, and West Greenlake. Now you couldn’t get me out of West Seattle with a crow bar!

addParticipantMoved to WS in 1998, after 9 years on the Issaquahh Plateau, by way of New Jersey & Wash DC area. Wouldn’t live any other place!!

I had about a 4 1/2 year stint over on the Kitsap Penninsula from around mid ’69-around late ’73. Then back to WS (Arbor Heights), to the Junction (moved out on my own) in April of ’78, (30 yrs ago?!?!) Fairmont area on 42nd Av in ’85, Morgan Junction ’00- present.

Schooling was Lafayette through the 5th Grade, 6th Grade at Tracyton Elem. in the Silverdale/E. Bremerton area, all of Jr. High at Central Kitsap in Silverdale, one quarter of High School at North Kitsap in Poulsbo, rest of High School at Sealth Class of ’76.

Mom was born and raised in WS.

SueParticipantWe’ve been in West Seattle for exactly 2 years now. We moved from NYC to Lynnwood in 2004 (I had friends there, so went where I knew) and once I got here and explored Seattle I decided I wanted to be here. I am thrilled with West Seattle and never want to leave!

JenVMembergrew up on Vashon- so West Seattle was only just a short ferry ride away. Moved here in 92, lived here until 94 when I did a brief stint in Olympia(geez, that sounds like prison!) been back here full time since 96. In May I got the opportunity to live AND work here…and have never been happier!

JimmyGMemberSince 1990 I’ve been lucky enough to call WS home.
Of course you must exclude 1992-95 since I spent it in the hell that is called Puyallup. In my house we refer to that as “the time that shall not be spoken of”.

BonnieParticipantJT & JimmyG, so funny. That’s my childhood in Burien. Actually, I’ve been hanging out in WS since ’84 when I started dating my boyfriend..now my husband. Of course I’d move from Burien to West Seattle!
