What’s the best gym/trainer in West Seattle for women over 59?

I can’t stand All-Star fitness, but they do have a separate women’s gym which is a nice feature. Then you don’t have to work out with beefcakes in the regular gym.

I would think the Y would be a decent place to go. I’ve never been to All Star so I can’t say anything about it.

I think the Y would be good! they have really good classes for older women. My Mother in Law goes and loves it!!! I myself like 24 hour fitness, just because it seems really clean compared to the Y. I havent tried Allstar but i have heard that they have a seperate Womens side which i think is pretty cool!

I’ve been to the Y and I like them a lot — they’re comfortable and accommodating when I need help getting around and, before, when I was mobile. I expect them to be the same when I’m mobile again — don’t know anything about the others…59??? What about 61-1/2 :-)

I don’t find the Y to be dirty at all…but I go there because of the childcare. 24 hour fitness does not have good childcare (compared to the Y). I guess it depends on what is most important to you.

What about Curves? My mom fits your demographic and liked it. Pretty sure they’re women only and they have a location in WS on California.

No way on Curves, unless you like to support the owner of that corporations virulent anti-abortion agenda.http://www.snopes.com/business/alliance/curves.asp

LOL…my Mom quit Curves when she found out about the owner’s anti-abortion stance. Melsbees, you should be able to get a two week membership for free to All Star to check it out. Not sure about trial periods for the YMCA, but I’m quite sure that 24 Fitness offers something as well. Check them out and see which one you like best. Southwest Pool has water aerobics, but they’re closing down for the summer, unfortunately. You could go to Colman Pool too and get a nice walk in to boot. Good luck in finding something that works for you!
