TanDLParticipantEmerald City Landscapes! They just put in pavers and a new fence in my difficult, on the side of a hill yard, and did a great job at a good price. Cleaned up really good afterwards, too. I couldn’t be happier and would recommend them for any outdoor job! Can call Dave at 206.788-6487.

CurateParticipantHey @TanDL, if you’re still reading this thread, thank you for all the posts you make recommending folks for various home jobs! I really appreciate it so much that you share when you find companies you’ve had a good experience with. I was curious on this yard job you were describing here — did you get other bids? If so, I’d love to know why you ended up going with Emerald City Landscapes above the others. Thank you!

TanDLParticipantHi Curate: We did get other bids and Emerald City was in the middle range for pavers. We talked with other companies about pavers and also poured concrete options. We liked the choice of pavers presented by Emerald City and especially appreciated how critical drainage factors with the job were explained to us. For the fence, other bids were pretty much in the same price range however I was in a hurry to get the fence done and other companies were booked out into the summer. Emerald City had a surprise earlier May opening, due to another job cancellation and we were so happy with their paving job that we jumped at it. We ended up very happy with the fence, too!

CurateParticipantThank you TanDL! Do you mind sharing the names of the other companies who were in the lower (and higher) ends of the range for the paving portion? Also, did Emerald City do any planting, yard, or gardening work for you guys?

TanDLParticipantI’m not comfortable sharing the names of the companies we rejected for the two jobs I had Emerald City do for us. They were all very professional and I appreciated them taking time out of their busy days to assess the jobs and give us quotes. Emerald City did not do any planting, yard work or gardening for us. We enjoy that part and wanted to do that ourselves.
